McCords two picks were the game but we wouldn’t have been in the game without him. I think the off week was the most damaging. We were flat and out physicaled. We weren’t going unbeaten and considering how we played we could have won. So it’s a different mentality on the Hill now. They believe they can win every week. We haven’t had that in awhile.
That’s what I’m saying and it isn’t like Fran didn’t try and give them a shot he took the timeouts right and give his team the best shot they stop them there the game is over.
We were flat. Too many mistakes. Kids were not prepared. They fought hard, but too many penalties and mistakes to overcome. He said they got outcoached. I agree. That said. Good loss if there is such a thing. Team will not take other opponents likely. Will help for rest of the year. I do think we have a quality team. We’ll see how good. Trying to get wins
We need the offensive line to bounce back... we all talk about the QB ..RECEIVERS ... A lot of time, physicality wins... we adjusted to the pressure too late.. I like the way the team fought. Coach will get us there
No moral victories. HOWEVER I feel as if the Better Team did not win this game. Cuse Beat themselves. With all the mistakes made they still had a chance to win with less than 40 secs left on the clock. Coaching has to tighten up a few loose ends . ALL IN ALL. the Dome hasnt felt so electric in a longggg time. STILL high hopes for this unit. GO ORANGE. WE GOT YOUR BACK COACH
That evening Stanford was better no doubt! When you can’t run the ball with an excellent pro style QB you’re in trouble. Simply they had a bad night although they will only get better I am excited for them!
Whatever... That's peace. I do like your coach. Don't run him out of town because you lost to us . We/Stanford know we're not that good but we travelled across the country to your dome and won. Would your QB have completed a 4th and 9? Perhaps you specifically have inflated your teams sense of self worth. Again we know who we are. There are no great expectations in an unfamiliar conference.
This is why I have faith in Fran Brown: he immediately takes accountability for himself instead of throwing his players under the bus. He also has a positive mindset in wanting to get better every week. 🏈
We looked rusty, ESPECIALLY coming off of a bye, and playing a team traveling from the west coast. Fundamentals, especially looking for the ball, is what lost us the game. Villari was open over the middle, and even after the break in his route, he never looked at his QB, or for the ball, which directly resulted in a pick 6. Same issue with Lewis. He was in good position on the 4th and 9, and even with the entire dome SCREAMING "PASS" he never looked for the ball. If he had it would have been easy to reach out and knock the ball down. We almost let the GT game slip away due to special teams errors, and we lost a game we should have won due to lack of basic fundamentals. Gotta be better guys.
Thank You !!! This is a good SU squadron. Stanford came out to PLAY !! I'm happy for their program. I'm sure that Coach Fran will have heads rolling !! I wouldn't want to be at the next practice. Go Orange !!! Lear and Win.
Didn't do a good job on that 4th and 9 call. One on one with a good receiver like that and rushing 3 people? Obviously the RC should've been double teamed.
4and9 you can’t let the only guy that’s beat you all day single covered and beat you for 30 yards especially at home…can’t blame the qb he’s all we got
Don’t get the early bye. Earliest have ever seen. Seemed like were very rusty coming off of it, after having what would have been great momentum after the GA Tech win. Too bad. Gotta move on and take care of these next two games.
All that unrestrained enthusiasm once again offered up w/ really no sustained substance to warrant same - the quality of players in the 2-deep roster has to be maintained, both in terms of consistency and health/well-being Stanford is an anomaly amongst D1FB wherein the players are required to be students as well as athletes - w/ those stipulations, they played Cuse to a tie…what does that imply for the real meat of the schedule where the opponents are more-so hired gun athletes? Seemingly doesn’t portend for a satisfactory initial FB season, unless the defense can consistently play up to the comp and they can also suit-up the now-injured 1st-deep players, IMHO
Week 1 the defense was flat and got better going forward. Week 2 special teams was flat and got better going forward. Game 3 is the O-line's turn to look in the mirror. Need to protect McCord better and open some damn running lanes.
Great game to watch. Outcome sucked. The last defensive set made no sense to me, but what do I know. I would have rushed more than three guys and I would have better coverage of one of the best receivers in the country. Better luck next time.
They're where 3 or 4 bad penalties called in Stanfords favor. The hold they called on the cuse on the bomb to hatcher that put us at the 5. The roughing the passer they called on us on a 3rd and 25 when the hit qb has he released the ball. The non late hit they didn't call in our favor was another and I'm sure I'm. Missing one

I’d say all the holding penalties were pretty bad plus no running game. My argument would be that’s more to blame.
@mattmotter9359 the holding penalties against SU were total BS!
@@allenwilliamsii4381 I think the pick six int, the play before was a deep ball down the side line called back for holding. Go figure lol
@@mattmotter9359 the pass to Gadsen? Yeah
Down 10 took lead late, that is way different than Babers. 50/50 at end win the next one.

McCord needs to hit Allen on the flats more often!
The team needs to move on and kick ass next weekend. They are getting better.

ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY NO DOUBT ABOUT IT > BETTER DAY'S R COMING FOR THIS TEAM!! THAT IS OBVIOUS 😍🏉😎👍
Tough loss but Stanford is underrated beat holy cross and UNLV and it will be forgiven go orange

Leaving Ayomanor in single coverage is a Cardinal sin!

We got beat at the line of scrimmage.. end of story. We were lucky to be in the game at the end.

I hate that late timeout call to give Stanford another minute to talk about their play when we had all the momentum.
But hindsight is 20/20
If it weren’t for the penalties and interceptions. Shoulda coulda woulda. Just learn from it and get better.
