What a revealing interview. KSA's life deserves a biopic. KSA is an ENFANT TERRIBLE, and he is also a specimen of what artist ought to be. Even with social media popularity of our modern day artist beyond our borders; yet they lack stage presence and people still make reference to KSA's stage craft and showmanship. The truth is, there will never be a FELA, SUNNY ADE or OBEY again.
Mr. Adeyanju, Thanks for yet again another masterpiece of an interview. May you continue to soar Higher always.

KSA and Commander Obey are different. They have very different strengths and weaknesses. Their music also pitch to different audiences. Commander Obey is the greatest music composer of all time, bar none. Whereas KSA is an entertainer par excellence. He was never, and is not a good music composer - most of his songs were composed by other people, sold to him and arranged by others including his so called band boys but he knew (and probably still knows) how to sing and commercially package those songs brilliantly with tremendous and sophisticated percussions. Both are Yoruba legends whose works will probably live forever. Musically, neither is necessarily better than the other. It's a personal choice. They are simply different to each other.

Jibowu Barrister & Sikiru Ayinde got separated in the early 70's.... Until 1979 when Barry disbanded his team, he (Jibowu) then collaborated with the disbanded team & made an elpee against Barry.
He only composed for the defunct team that comprised of e.g, Baba Oyadolu, Suara adelodun, Banji Sufianu, Sansa Baba risikat, Wasiu lateef, Oyela lateef, Apollo International driver etc... They released that elpee in 1980, after d demise of Ayinla Omowura, when Barry sang "Oke gbemi" , referring to the defunct team, while they replied Barry that " Oke kan ko le gbe okuta mi"... It's a long composition.
Moreover, Sikiru Ayinde is a truthful person, he said in his music in d mid 70's that what Jibowu did for him was that he changed his voice from his normal to the one that's gonna suits for public hearing , & he (Barry) also borrowed d name Barrister from Jibowu, although Jibowu is a well known composer... But he never said he do composed for him.
After their separation Barry continue to be waxing more & more stronger than every musicians, to buttress my point, Life play of musicians started penetrating into every one's home at the ratio of 20% via KSA, but when Barry came with full force in the late 70"s d population rose to 50%,. by d year 1982/3.... Every dick & harry had now focused on Barry only when it comes to d issues of Life play... As king of life play.
D only Musician that can praise a rich man in party & he will go gaga was Barry.
I can prove this beyond any reasonable doubt...
Because of that he took over all d rich men in Yoruba land , Ibadan, IJEBU Ode, Aiyepe, Kwara, etc... Olowo ti Barry ko ba ki, ko rise ni walahi.

    Wonderful !!!
After listened to this interview and thorough understanding, I realised KSA was right at the end of the day.
Baba Ogundele eventually advised Barrister to leave tyc, that showed that KSA was very wised to have stood his ground, left and never looked back .
I will submit here that KSA and baba Ogundele started very well, help themselves along the way but working with Abioro ( who ksa already understood was a user at the time ) put division into there brotherly friendship.
Not many artist has/had the wisdom and boldness of ksa .
I think younger artists these days should seek advice from ksa to understand the business aspects of music.
Additionally, baba Ogundele came back sometimes in the 90s if I could remember and was given an office at the Ariya night club working for ksa.
    My opinion.
    Well done Agbaletu 🤛🏽

According to Obey himself,he said on some occasion, he can sit down in a place to compose 30-40 songs in a day. And going by his records and evergreen songs he released from time to time, one could clearly see that truely he is gifted than Sunny Ade .
