They likely didn't outside extreme situations. The rebel alliance like the empire before it had a religious disdain for droids in combat roles, the empire was hypocritical though so you could still find battle droids of various types. Anti battle droid propaganda was extremely successful. Still, somebody had to make the food and do other menial labor for the newly raised imperial and rebel troops so they were likely reprogrammed for non combat roles so more people could have the honor of dying in direct combat, its all for the propaganda anyways. Millions of dead droids means nothing to people, millions of dead men ensures a need to exact vengeance. But really, most governments in star wars are EXTREMELY flawed, its the exception rather than the rules that they do things optimally.

If the Rebel Navy didn’t use these then they deserved to lose. U could launch these from multiple GR-75s at an imp convoy and destroy or capture it
