I truly feel sorry for those who know nothing of this music. It would be like living life without ever having experienced a kiss. A shame! Thanx for uploading.

Fantastic good microphones they had 90 year ago! They almost picked up the whole audible spectrum (at least 40 - 14.000 Hz, or something). Not to mention how good the 78 rpm record was in reproducing this quality.

They can tweak things and smooth crackles and blips so it sounds like it was recorded five minutes ago. Good for when you really want to hear it as intended. But, there are people who like the signs of age and who don't like the ironing out and smoothing down.

'A Shine On Your Shoes' is simply a great tune and probably the very best of Dick Robertson, an innocuous singer at best, who outshines himself here.
A personal top favorite for 60 years.

One of the nicest come-backs in history - of 78s anyway :-)

Victor had young ideas! Catch the two takes of "Two Tickets to Georgia" and hear how he makes a great arrangement more commercial but just as great.

Hard to believe these were transcribed from 78 RPM records and that they were in such good shape. Thank you.

Thanks for the Victor Young...he brought a lot of life to Brunswick...jazz that was elegant, but with a broad appeal...truly fine.

THIS MUSIC STILL INSPIRES SOME 90 YEARS LATER ! IN 1933 FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT SIGNED THE "FINE ARTS ACT", WHICH PAYED LYRACISTS, COMPOSERS, AND SINGERS TO CREATE SUCH ELEGANT, POSITIVE , AND UPBEAT MUSIC TO CHEER PEOPLE IN THE DEPTS OF THE GREAT DEPRESSION. IT'S NO WONDER WHY THE ERA OF MUSIC IS SO UNFORGETTABLE AND CONTINUES TO COMFORT AND INSPIRE TODAY !

Came across this great stuff while browsing for tunes at Christmas. Thank you for such a breath of fresh air in the lineup of songs here. Hope you can find and share more of these great artists songs as we shelter in place and find the reason for the season.
