The character of Jim Moriarty is the perfect villain and a lot more charismatic than the character of John Watson. If I were to ship a slash it would more likely be Jim/Sherlock if I were into that kind of thing.
I agree. He IS way more charismatic and he is the perfect villain to Sherlock. He opposes him in just the right ways. John however isn't meant to be charismatic. He is just another opposition to Sherlock. Where Sherlock and Moriarty are brilliant minded, John has a big heart and a lot more common sense than both of them. He is their mirror to a world they never truly understood and that makes him the perfect partner (romantically/platonically w/e) for Sherlock. He keeps him grounded, adds his own flavor to the explosive composition that is Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock and Moriarty are two sides of the same coin. Both brilliant masterminds who chose opposite directions. John is the Heart to Sherlocks mind. No more, no less. thanks for coming to my TED talk lol
