Naahh.....If you see Kareena, Yami Gautam, Tamanna Bhatia, Katrina kaif all of them have fairer complexion....I think it has to do with the facial features which apparently didn't align with the maker's imagination. In the last 10-15 years the stories are revolving in Small town north Indian places like Lucknow, West Delhi, Kanpur, Bhopal, Dehradun....So maybe she is not looking the part...

Well most directors wanted to cast her as a side role as she is a beginner, and because of how beautiful she is, it would obviously draw attention away from the leads, so that makes sense as to why she might’ve faced issues for being too pretty

Can we talk about Richa Chadda here for a moment. What Sanjeeda was trying to convey here was understood by her immediately. As It would be easy to misunderstand this as Sanjeeda being conceited about being "too pretty," Richha said, "No, it can go both ways. Someone can be rejected from a role if they are deemed too ugly for it, just as someone else may be turned down if they are not considered conventionally gorgeous or pretty enough (for the role)

Aishwarya was never offered the 2nd lead in any of her movie. The thing is Sanjeeda is only offered side roles or 2nd lead and being too beautiful she distracts the attention from the lead actress. So she ends up getting replaced by other actresses.

Sanjeeda is actually too pretty and after motherhood and her divorce period her skin became little dull but if you see her older shows, she was damn really pretty. Problem here was that makers don't give her the main lead role to her first because those roles always to people who have strongtest connection with the maker (like nepo kinds) and secondly she comes from telivision background and usually they don't want a person who is very famous in TV and played main lead there plays a main lead in a movie because there image is already attached to that TV character and they think people might not accept it, mrunal is established in movies today because one of the reason that she was not a lead character in TV... And here the second part she will not be considered for side role or second lead or someone not lead but important character because they want secondary roles to be less influencial and less pretty from the lead because most attention should be on lead.

Aishwarya got main roles despite her looks because she was in a privileged position of being miss world winner who usually get a lot of attention in india and bollywood. Sanjeeda unfortunately is a case of yet another tv actor who bollywood refuses to take seriously to be able to lead a movie, so the only options she then has is supporting roles, but many directors don't want their female lead being outshined by a side role being more beautiful and taking away attention from the lead. That's where this scenario of losing roles for being too pretty occur.
Shermin is giving those expressions because she knows how the casting is done in project and project makers do not drop any actor for “being too pretty” . It was such that sanjeeda was simply a b category movie or a tv actress, and she was doing well. Sanjeeda didn’t have to make up this story.

Good god, sharmin is so rude and disrespectful, constantly making faces at whatever sanjeeda says. It's common practise in casting that actors get rejected for either not being good-looking enough or looking too attractive for the role because often casting directors/ directors prior imagine what they think that character will look like and they try and find that character in the actors they come across and they reject that actor because they don't fit the bill. It might sound vain for an actor to admit that basis of a rejection being that they were too attractive for the role, but it's simply an industry fact when it comes to character casting.
