Thank you for your time teaching others. You are talented. You do a quality work and probably the more important for us, you do it a didactic way. I would maybe have 1 remark that could help to even better understand every step: when you select some parts of the graphics, it think would be helpful to see from the layers panel which layers are selected. Without it it is not always easy to figure out. Take care.

@@GraphicDesignwithElena One layer, but different paths; that is what would be helpful to see which path you are selecting for which step. Your tutorials are good, you do wonderful work, but visuals are great teachers. I had no trouble with your other tutorials, but this is irritating to try to follow without seeing what you are doing with the paths. I keep having to back up to figure out what you're doing. I eventually figured it out, but it would have been much faster to see the layer and know what paths you are selecting. Thank you.

Glad you like my tutorial!!! Clipping mask needs to hide unwanted parts of designs. In the end of this tutorial I have shadow beyond the artboard and to hide it I need to use a clipping mask.

You do not need to use a another rectangle over the Heart object and then use minus front. For me that is not always accurate. I simply use the direct selection tool and drag over the half I want to remove then hit delete. It deletes exactly the half of the shape.

Hello, I have a question. @4:52 do I have to use clipping mask on the heart? That was the part I was having difficulty with. Or could I not use clipping mask and continue with tutorial and it look good?

Here you need clipping mask because of the shadow was only on the heart and not went out of the contour of the heart, but if you like you can skip this step

Awww! Thank you so, so much! I found some real paper postcard in the Pinterest about Valentine's day, I chosed some I like and create my own in vector.
