I just got the scribe today. As a 51 yr old who has decided to go to nursing school, I thought this would be the best tool for all the things that I need to learn. This video helped me so much when attempting to learn how to navigate this devise. Thanks you so much.
I got my Kindle Scribe from my son as a 2 in 1 gift (Father's Day and birthday). I'm a retired MD and I am enjoying it thoroughly. Thanks for the straight-to-the-point tutorial.
Thanks for sharing these features. Just received my KScribe yesterday, and this device is awesome. Your tips and tricks will certainly help me enjoy this device even more. Just new using Kindle, my brother has had one for years and can't put it down. So I'm sure this will be great adventure, THANKS again. AW😊
This is my friend's second Kindle. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxOnUR4NaproSbBbD2sdI4XcDZ58Jz8GOx The first one which is about 5 or 6 years old quit charging because the bottom connector went bad. When I saw they upgraded to a USB C connector I knew it was time. I think the old USB Micro connectors are a PIA. Her new one is great. It synced right out of the box and connected to WiFi immediately. The thing is perfect! Sooo mine will arrive tomorrow. (Been reading off an old Fire) What bugs me are the reviewers that give this product one star because it didn't work out of the box or they were too dumb to figure it out. If it doesn't work send it back and get another one. It couldn't be easier with Amazon. Giving it one star because it didn't work says nothing about a good one that does work. I bet a bad one is one in a thousand or more. Give it a break...just get another one.
Thanks for the review. I just purchased the Oasis because i couldn't wait but this is still pretty cool aa well & might just have to pick it up as well.
Update for anyone who watches this after May 2023 - The Pen now does support Pressure Sensitivity and also works on Samsung Devices (the ones that use the S-Pen). The Pen is made by Wacom meaning it will also work with some Wacom devices aswell (and Wacom Pens, the S-Pen etc. Will also work on the Kindle). Example: If you prefer the feel of the smaller S-Pen from Samsung's Note Line, you can use that on this tablet and it will work EXACTLY the same though the button on the side may not work.
I just got a Scribe delivered yesterday and I’m trying to find my way around so this was helpful, thank you. Ive been reading ebooks on my iPad with the kindle app and I like to scroll rather than turn the page but I can’t work out how to do that on my Scribe, do you know if there’s a way to set that please?
Does anyone know how to increase the sleep mode time out on a Scribe? When I am using it for note taking and there is no activity for a while it will go into sleep mode and it takes too much time to re-enter password and jot down the note
So all these tips are a sell for me, but for someone who reads books daily, and needs to take notes, so far this has everything I need in one place except im looking to start writing novel, how would this do for writing a book?
Does anyone find that the pen tip scratches the screen at all over time? I own iPads and some screen protectors do get scratched like "Rock Paper, Pencil." Brand... etc Just need to know if I need a screen protector? Thx
Why does every click on the menus make the device look like it's glitching, with black/white flashes? Why is there so much lag on every action (except the writing, thankfully)? Look at 1:12 .
i think these flashes are very common to kindle devices . these are screen refreshes. since kindle devices relies on electronic ink (that works in a magnectic way, i think²) it helps to make text and images not leaving ghost marks behind. it cleans the screen for new incoming information and pages, such as menus and brand new texts. for writing and drawing, i believe it isn't necessary after all because doing those things are much more like a ">build-up< from scratch" approach from the pen than a refreshing one from navigating menus and pages. edit: i'm not 100% sure if what i said is completely correct, just saying from my personal experience of owning a kindle. hope it helped!
I have the Paperwhite, iPad 12.9 M1, MacBook M1 Pro 16”, iPhone 13 ProMax….and just got my Scribe. The Scribe’s battery life, and note taking as it sits, will replace paper in my life. No distractions with the Kindle Scribe…and those notes once synced will be accessible via the Kindle app. Duplication between devices, yes, but the Scribe is a perfect addition I believe. Different tools for different tasks.
I just bought one as a replacement for my kindle DX from 2011. I have a kindle paper white signature edition and now this. It’s worth it to me because I always enjoyed having a large kindle for reading my books and have the smaller kindle paperwhite for when I am by a pool or hanging out in a bathtub and reading since the paperwhite is water proof where the kindle DX and Scribe are not. Amazon is offering a 20 percent discount for trade in of older devices that are no longer supported for whispersync.
@@elliotsgirl23 That’s redutionistic, a myth has meaning, a metastory accepted as a goal, like “moving a mountain” is impossible, but the meaning has nothing to do with the fact that a mountain can’t be moved. I can move mountains! And the fact-of-the-matter is, I have invalidated YOU!

Yes Andrea! That's amazing. How are you now? How is your note taking experience with the Kindle scribe?
good luck! nursing school is tough but not impossible, I graduate this may from RT School!
Best review I have seen and could understand it for a 66 year young person. Thank you

Thrilled by this detailed yet on-point video. This mediatek driven kindle with 300 PPI Paperwhite display and display pen has my heart.
I think that's one of the best videos I've seen on Kindle Scribe. Thanks :) !

Perfect video!!! thank you!!!
Apologies for the quantity of this video. I filmed half of it in an air bnb with a terrible mic & the second half in a different one
Very nice and informative review for new Scribe owners like myself!
Thank for the video! So imformative.
Mind sharing the model of that protective case? It looks really good!
3:29 “but then, neither were cave walls” line was great!

Can you share the link for your kindle scribe cover?

can we record video of its screen?
Hello, when creating a document for note taking on the device, can you add pages to it later?
Yes you can.😉
3:45 little did the tortoise know... the snail was turbo himself
The Harrods management turbo’d me out of the building for drawing that sketch lol…no sense of humour 😂
You can access the control center without two taps - just drag down from the top of the screen - just one step
Does it have the ability to create text format from hand written notes?
Unfortunately not yet. Hopefully with a future update
4:21 what type of keyboard is that on your laptop?
It’s a Keyboard cover from Editors Keys
Hi, can we upload physics and maths textbooks and read them in scribe
Yes if you covert the to the correct format
so what formats are accepted by scribe
@@WhatGear
2:59 I don’t see the handwriting icon what should I do?
Oh I didn't realise it was a wacom stylus
Writing on PDF is not enabled!
I assume the screen is easier on your eyes as it's lit from the side rather than backlit. If I can load all types of document, then I'm tempted.
why not just get an iPad at that point? the scribe is around $300 dollars and it cant even do all the things that an iPad can do
@@Aj-me8mo...or a Samsung Tab S8 or 9?
@@chrishyde1216 I'm not too familiar with android tablets but I'm pretty sure they can do just as much. The 340 price point for the scribe is a joke
Can it translate written notes into text?
Unfortunately not yet. You either hand write or type or both.
@@WhatGear thanks!
@@GadZookz fingers crossed that Amazon adds this in a future update
Keep in mind, you can have iOS convert that handwriting from the Scribe into your Apple devices
Thanks for the review-this is rather too expensive for a digital doodle pad added to an e reader.
It’s also kind of an MP3 player 😀
its worth it. i love mine. and if you factor in the cost of the pen its no tbad
can mirror macbook screen?
"But neither were cave walls" 😂😂

I guess it's like shaking an etch a sketch 😄
Is it worth buying if you own an ipad and a kindle.
For me the primary use is as a notepad that will be a permanent fixture on my work desk. So for me it is. It really depends on how you use it.
No..

Probably not unless you want a bigger screen kindle and budget is no issue.
The blue light/warm light thing is a myth.

A myth is just an invalidated fact lol

i don't want to be a party pooper but all this is common sense knowledge. Kindles are easy to figure out
For aged people, this is not common sense knowledge at all. What you did in the comment is humblebrag ;-p
