For a straight thru transom drain at sole height (above waterline), could this be made to work without the retaining nut? I'm sure 4200 would probably hold the thru-hull in place securely, but I'm wondering if there's a way to keep the duckbill in place if there's no adapter or retaining nut screwed on the end. I'd have to cut it off flush with the transom for good drainage, hence the question.
This is a very nicely designed product! Well done!
