We stayed here last year in a yurt. I really liked the proximity to some nice towns as my family doesn't all like camping as much as I do 😅, but they loved the day trips into Port Elgin, Kincardine and Southampton.
@@OntarioCamping We used to be down in Windsor, near Wheatley, and loved making the trip to MacGregor Point then. So we definitely aren't complaining now having it close!
We went this summer (the beach wasn't as nice as when you went - we had to wade through organic buildup to get to the sandbars), and the biggest problem was that the bike rack only fits three bikes, so not all four of us could bring bikes. It's a shame that the marl is less accessible than it used to be, it's a lot less cool. But better that they're protecting the vulnerable plants. The really weird thing was how casual they are about the bears - last time I was at Algonquin they not only ran through how to camp bear-safe, they actually made us sign a waiver. But even though the "bear in park" sign was up, there wasn't any real concern. My guess is that the threshold at MacGregor for that sign may be low? I agree that it's got a really great number of trails considering its side.
Let us know what you think about Macgegor Point provincial park ❓
Great work man, place looks really inviting and interesting! Definitely worth a visiting!
Thanks!
I agree it is a great park and good trails. Roger’s and Fido cell service is limited to 1 bar
