Great video, but I'll mention that general carry etiquette is to stay still in grace period whenever possible, rather than kiting around and potentially dying or getting a slam aimed at the wrong spot. Particularly relevant for characters not set up for hard boss fights.
Thanks mate! It's tough because people are at such different knowledge levels and most of my viewerbase is quite experienced which makes it hard to do the occasional new player oriented PSA
same the poe algorythm on youtube seems to be completely taken over by videos on how to make currency, whatever I just want basic information on I keep finding mostly only information how to make currency with said mechanic and they just assume you know everything and then the videos are still 40+ minutes.
Thanks for the video. This is what I was looking for at the beginning of the league to figure out where to get those last two stones. Ended up figuring it out by researching multiple sources and this was my first league in which I unlocked my full atlas points, slots, and stones for the first time. I think this will be a great resource for newer players. Glad this video now exists and thank you Sir for making it.
I think veteran players like me forget the level of complexity at times. These encounters were each the focus of an expansion so if you played then you knew all about them... But Maven was added years ago now and Uber elder way longer

I feel compelled to mention that if you allocate the Uber nodes for Eater / Exarch on the Atlas tree and run the zone level 83 quest versions of Eater & Exarch they will be the zone level 85 version of the fight. Failing said fight still allows for the quest invite to be looted on the new Eater / Exarch influenced map. As for why someone would choose to do this, well I'd like to know.
@@sirgog I remember it being used one time during a private league (Bingo league) where one of the tiles was to defeat Uber Eater and someone chose to complete that by leaving quest Eater undone while getting the 3 other voidstones, gearing up and then going for Uber Eater which they could spam indefinitely. Definitely a very niche use case.
One small point that confused me a lot when I first started unlocking my Voidstones is that a lot of League mechanic rewards that drop maps will ignore your voidstones and drop the maps at their natural level. So if maps seem to be dropping at the worng level/you are still getting maps below T16 with 4 Voidtones this is often the reason why.
Although I already knew most of this from when I did it back in kalandra, this would have helped me a lot back then. However, I was very surprised when you said maven was easier than Uber elder, when my experience has been that Uber elder is a cake walk while I’ve always bought maven carry services. (I tried maven twice in kalandra with my rf inquisitor and failed both times before just buying a carry.) Maybe I should give maven another shot now that I’m no longer playing a build she hard counters
Destructive play is a big help, but i still wish there was a "quest" version for uber elder. Like there is for Eater and Exarch. It seems the game wants us to acquire all 4 voidstones as part of the endgame storyline, so im surprised the path to them (for the first fight) isnt more linear.
Thanks that was very helpful. And yeah, I think I am going to be satisfied with the two voidstones I have. Unless I am missing something, the benefit of just making maps drop as a higher tier and a couple favorite slots seems a little underwhelming. That may be because this league is the only one I have for reference, and there are lots of people that are choosing to mostly do T7 maps anyway. Also, I am not at all hurting for access to higher tier maps, but again that may just be a result of the wildwood juicing (at one point I got a drop of 93 maps from a single kill). I appreciate that the content is there for other folks, but bosses are my least favorite part of ARPGs, so when the value proposition is low, I am likely to forego them. Maybe in a future season.
I had a Jan 2022 video adjacent to the topic that kept getting hits it did not deserve. It really was a "good on the day it was posted" video, nothing more.
Yeah it's one of those things that was easy to learn when it was "the brand new thing" but I only realised this guide was needed when I noticed people kept finding one of my other videos while searching for voidstone guide.
about 13:20 you do not need to kill anything in 4 way to unlock last slot in map device, all that is needed is to be in zone when timer reaches 0(can even be on death screen). killing things is good for exp and drops but just presence is enough to unlock 5th slot in map device.
Has this changed? It used to be mandatory for each boss to die once while the instance existed, and the encounter was considered failed if that (very very low bar) wasn't met.
Great video. Only question I still have is if I am going to be hiring boss killing services for the voidstones, am I able to hire those services at any point, or only when I have reached certain milestones in my own atlas progression?
Probably among my biggest gripes is how you can get stone 1 and 2 pretty organically, then 3 and 4 are effectively unqttainable for days for normal play. Exponential scaling bad for a basic, expected part of completing the atlas completion.
Unless you rush 1 and 2, they will take ~80 maps to get. You'll be able to attempt 3 and 4 in another 80. Now, if you rush 1 and 2, things are different.
My biggest gripe is how you lose all progress if you fail the fight. This is so punishing for new players. I first tried the Maven a couple of leagues ago. I wasted over 10 divine on invitations and quit the league out of frustration. Last league I played EA totem and beat her with ease. I think if you don't yet have the voidstone, when you fail the Maven, you should start getting the fight as a Kirac mission until you get the voidstone.
I have a question about sextants and Heist's contracts and blueprints. If I apply sextants A B C D, then launch a map, not entering it yet, then applying sextants X Y Z... then which sextants this map will have? First ones or second ones? Similiar situation with Heist. If I launch contract/blueprint with Thief's Trinket A and rogue gear B C D E and then change trinket and rogue gear for M N O P... then which trinket and gear will be applied to this contract/blueprint? First set or second one? Sorry for my poor english.
You get ABCD. The sextants are applied and consumed on the moment of map creation, along side scarabs, whatever other fragment you add, the map itself, the chaos used to activate extra mod, and the master mission you choose. If you choose to opt into using any of these.
hi, after the Necropolis update "Maven Invitations no longer drop. Instead, when you have witnessed all required Bosses to enter Maven's Arena, speak to Kirac to open the Map Device window with the invitation already placed in there, ready to be modified". Well, im at 12/10 of t14 boss killed witnessed by maven and i never got the invitation after a boss kill or talking to kirac. Any suggestions?
Could we get a video on sextant-use in general? It's easily the thing I hate the most about the mapping system, as sextant application/buying seems like a complete slog, but I can't help feeling like I'm losing out without engaging in the system. How do higher end players engage with the system? Is it generally worth it, considering the hassle? And am I missing out on too much, by not using them?
There are 4 type of engagement: 1. None. You and most people are here. 2. Just apply them onto the voidstone and go, maybe look at them first in case something vaulable is there. economy tab. Some content enhacing ones to give you an idea: -Breach always belong to Chayula. -Splinters and Emblems dropped by Legion Monsters in your Maps are duplicated. -Delirium Reward Bars fill 100% faster. -Oils found in your Maps are 1 tier higher. -Lifeforce dropped by Harvest Monsters in your Maps is Duplicated. There're a lot more, pretty much 1 for every content you can spec into your atlas. And even if you don't really do any specialized strat, applying them would get you extra mobs and occasionally valuable ones to sell for an extra divine.
I still don't understand, with 4 voidstones socketed, do all maps drop t16? That can't be the case. What exactly do you mean by "increases the tier of the map on the atlas".
At 4 voidstones they do all drop tier16, except in cases that something has a "map reward" as that often tend to ignore the voidstones and just give maps in their natural tier.
Yes, if you have 4 voidstones socketed then it turns your entire atlas into T16s, so all of your natural map drops will be T16s as long as you are in a high enough level map to drop them (T14+). The exceptions to this are unique maps which have their own set level, and Archnemesis rare monster loot conversions where a rare monster drops a big pile of maps that got converted from currency.
Uber Elder is really annoying in SSF, I've had times when I've had the same fragment drop up to 10 times in a row, it is a shame the harvest craft doesn't work for the uber fragments. Other than that I kind of wish sextant blocking wasn't a thing, since it feels like a waste to use sextants if you don't have both Uber Elder and Maven down already, or at the very least would be nice if it was done through atlas passives instead. Of course all of this would be way less of a problem in trade.
10 in a row is crazy bad luck, like literally 1 in 2^9 = 512. But yeah, it would be a good change to add to reduce trade reliance. Sextant blocking is IMO a lesser issue than the crazily OP +1 use being... on the atlas. Really incentivises dedicated atlases for hideout warriors.
@@sirgog the +1 being on the atlas doesn't feel that bad in SSF since you don't have an endless supply of sextants, but I can see how it could be a problem in trade.
