Been watching since I was at least 11, I am 22 now. I don’t think I’ve ever commented on one of your videos, but I just want to say I thank you for being consistent for so long and offering so much entertainment and knowledge over the years. Here’s to many more years of the Hickok45 videos!!
We should be ashamed of ourselves for reeling in so many innocent little middle schoolers and addicting them to gun smoke!! :-)
@@hickok45 Im in middle school and I'm 11 in the 6th grade and I love watching your videos!
Same here, about 12 years ago he did a 3 part Shooting Technique video that really introduced me into the hobby. Here I am, about to be 26 still watching hickock everyday.
@@hickok45 as far back as I remember I've been shooting I shot a 1911.45 with my dad holding it me squeezing the trigger when I was six. Got a 22 Marlin 16 shot when I was 10 12 gauge when I was 12 and a Savage 110 30X06 when I was 16..
I was raised in South Carolina so that kind of explains things 😁
Same but only been watching for 5 years
I’ve officially been watching Hickok45 shoot guns for 10 years. I’ve purchased so many firearms after watching these videos. I don’t always agree with him but he is definitely someone whose opinion carries a ton of weight, in my mind. And we always, ALWAYS agree that shooting guns is fun as hell.
I’ve had the Hellcat Pro for a couple weeks now. I shot both the p365 and the standard Hellcat at the rental range. Both of them were too small for my hands. I started hearing about the p365xl and the Hellcat Pro, then the p365x. I was finally able to hold both the P365x and the Hellcat Pro in my hands at a gun shop. The Hellcat Pro just fit better in my hands. I since have found holsters from Hawg Holsters and use the Philster Enigma Express to conceal carry. It’s a great setup!
Thanks for all of the great videos.
I feel like the Hellcats grip depends on the user hands. just not able to grip it right like the XL, especially with the Wilson Combat grip. One thing is for sure, probably over 500 rounds, mostly steel case and not one issues with my Pro
@@ElJuan008 definitely! That’s why I kept going back and forth between the two. They were so close.
Nice to hear that someone took some pistols out for a test drive at a rental range before buying one instead of going off of a video or even a magazine review. I’ve advocated for that for years among acquaintances who weren’t exactly gun people, and a lot of them never knew that there was a such a thing as a rental range. I’ve known many people who have told me that they bought a gun after hearing good things about it, only to not like certain things about its ease of operation, how it felt in the hand, etc., and going after something else. Good on you.
@@johndilday1846 I couldn’t imagine buying an edc gun without shooting something that’s at least close to it. I shot a couple others first and instantly knew those weren’t for me. I wouldn’t even buy the Hellcat Pro without holding it and the P365x in my hands first.
Hellcat was my first gun that wasn’t a Glock..
I ended up selling my 43x to get one and like it a lot better than the 43x. Then 2 weeks later they came out with the Hellcat Pro and I was somehow able to get my hands on one the day they launched and they addressed every complaint I had with the original Hellcat and really just made the PERFECT conceal carry firearm, in my personal opinion. Less snappy than the original Hellcat, flush fit 15 round mag, bigger grip to keep my pinky in place, crispier trigger and you don’t have to pay extra to get the OSP variant.
I really like my 43x for edc, but I’m strongly considering a hellcat pro for winter months. It felt great at the range, functioned flawlessly. I was considering a g19 until I heard about this. I like the 19 but it’s definitely bigger than the hellcat for no reason. Unless one wants a thicker grip. Definitely reliable but just too thick for my edc preference. Nice review
I got the hellcat pro and the 43x. The pro comes out of the box better, but I put night sights on my 43x and changed the mag release to shield arms and shield arms 15rd mags. I have less money in the pro now, not much. I like them both but I find myself carrying the 43x more cause it’s warmer now and that grip on the hellcat pro can rub u raw without an undershirt.😬
I hated my 43X . gun was just not for me. had to keep adjusting my grip every time I picked it up. Bought a Shield plus. Fits my hands much better. I guess one size does not fit all 😁
I completely agree with your comparison with the G19. That was actually my thought as soon as I saw the length and capacity of the Hellcat Pro, it makes all previous "compact" guns look not that compact anymore.
You deserve to receive “promotion packages”. Borrowed guns should not be in your vocabulary. You’re an OG sir, a staple. I’d like to see and experience the videos that I hear you say more often than not “thank you to _ _ for giving us this gun”. You’re well deserving of this expectation.
That would probably go against who he is. The promotion guys aren't allowed to speak bad and being honest on the guns.. Hickok is very honest on his reviews.
I’ve been carrying the hellcat pro osp for a while. Everybody bitches about the trigger in stock form, but I didn’t mind it. I still put the apex trigger in mine because I’m used to it and I run it in my Glocks. Also put a Holosun 407k on top. It replaced my 43x as my everyday carry. Sold my original silver slide 43x and went back with a 43x mos so I could mount an optic. I used to bash red dots, then I shot with one and really liked it lol. Did years in the marine corps and always ran open sights on my sidearm. Always an eotech with a Magnifier on my m4 but never with a pistol until a year or 2 ago. I came out just after we adopted the SIG! Wouldn’t mind having a p320 xcsrry or something to see if a SIG will grow on me. Didn’t care for the SIg much in the corps, but then again I only used it for about a year until I got out! Love the channel! I’d love to make the trip from East Tennessee and shoot with you some day!
Loving my Hellcat Pro. Going to put on a 507 k, apex trigger and Night Fision sights and I think it will be my favorite carry gun yet.
Had the regular Hellcat but could only shoot it with the 13rd mags so it’s about the same grip length as the pro anyways.
I have a modified 33rd clip on my regular hellcat🤙
You will love the Apex on the Hellcat. Feels better than the Sig trigger now.
@@charliefabian7345 how did you do this?!?!
Glock has been the size/weight/capacity standard forever. Hellcat pro 15 rounds and sig macro 17, make it very hard to not give up a g19. Then you have all smaller model compatibility as well.
Sig and Springfield did exactly what everyone wanted and cut weight and size by 20% and kept capacity the same.
Like you, I'm slightly less accurate with my Hellcat Pro due to not being as accustomed to the U-dot sight. It's certainly nothing that can't be overcome, but in the 300 or so rounds I've run through mine, I'd say I'm roughly 5-10% less accurate than some of my other firearms with traditional sights. I'm still easily on target, but just slightly off the mark. I'm sure that'll definitely improve with more rounds sent downrange at various distances and familiarizing myself with the sights. So far, I'm really enjoying this gun in my carry rotation and I can absolutely see it becoming my primary carry gun due to not feeling the need to carry an extra mag. It's really nice to have that peace of mind. Thanks for your review! I was anxiously awaiting your assessment of it, since I knew it'd only be a short time until you posted a review of it. It's definitely a fantastic firearm and I definitely gave a lot of consideration to the P365XL, as well due to an awesome deal at Sportsman's Warehouse recently that was quite hard to pass up! But the Springfield still tickled my fancy just a bit more. Either way, like you said, they're both awesome choices and I don't think anyone will be unhappy with their decision in picking one or the other.
My issue with a different sort of sight, whether it's this U-notch, an optic, or something else, is that I want the same sighting system on ALL my pistols. I don't want one of them to have something weirdly different; otherwise, it will never be in my "defensive rotation." It needs to be something I like so much that I put it on all my pistols. :-)
@@hickok45 yeah, that’s understandable. Fortunately, I’d absolutely feel comfortable using this to defend mine or my family’s life. There’d be no question of hitting center mass. However, I wouldn’t expect to run this in any sort of competition atmosphere like I would my 1911 or Glock 17/19. I’ve certainly got a lot more trigger time in with those though… I suppose it’ll take a few hundred more rounds before I’m a real “pro” with the pro! 😂
I just bought a Hellcat RDP and it came with a HEX Wasp red dot and a compensator with the Gen 2 trigger. Great little subcompact holding 13 in the mag!!!
For me the Hellcat Pro feels like it was designed specifically for my hand and seems as close to a perfect hand gun as I have ever shot.
Same
Pretty much the same exact thing I said when I first shot the XD45 back in the day.
A long re set sucks but the worst is a weak reset, HKUSP40 is the best reset ive felt, lots of spring pressure on the reset, my Glock builds i like too. An SRT trigger in a sig p220 is a must, it was a long and weak return, SRT trigger turns it into a short return but i still noticed the weak return spring. Hearing Hickok say the long reset messed him up lol these companys that build these guns are clueless, get a VP9 over all this, except the Glock 19 which is dope.
Love the stock sights on these
GREAT sights
Me too. The main reason I chose the hellcat for my carry gun instead of the 365
My take on the Springfield Hellcat Pro is it's a little smaller than the Glock 48 and the Hellcat Pro has 15 round mags vs 10 in the Glock 48. Springfields is coming up with the 15 round solution people want in a gun and have a smaller compact carry gun.
Been a Sig fan for a long time, but I have a Hellcat. So far I like it. I think between the XL and the Pro I would still go with the Springer for a couple of reasons. First I don't like how the optics plate on the Sig negates your rear sight unlike the Springer. Second, I don't like the Sig proprietary rail.
If your an optics person but still want co existing sights Springfield was thinking of you. Hopefully the others will do the same soon. I love all this competition really pushing innovation forward.
Sig wants you to buy their Romeos.
Im the same way. Sig fanboy but bought the hellcat pro today. It was how it felt in my hand and yes... That dang proprietary rail. Huge turn off for me.
Both the p365s shoot really nicely, my girlfriend has both, many rounds through both. The proprietary rail is sucky. Never shot either Hellcat, though I got an Xdm Elite Compact 3.8 OSP last year and like shooting that better than the Sigs. Just feels better in my hand. Also, the fit finish, details of the XDM is at a higher level than the Sigs, no doubt. Of course the XDs and Hellcat are made in Croatia, and generally the Europeans really have an eye for detail and quality. An exception? She has a Glock 17 Gen 5 as well, and that is another great shooter though have to say the finish of that Austrian made gun leaves allot to be desired. Even though very well taken care of, well maintained, after the handling associated with maybe 300 rounds, looking pretty worn. Don't really understand why. I got her a CAA MCK Gen 2 for the Glock which is beyond cool. Becomes a sweet "PCC", and takes accuracy to a completely different level, far more controllable. Looks cool too! Actually truth be told the MCK is more for me as the G17 is a bit big for her, she rarely shoots it. :)
lord have mercy on the man who draws on hickok
Loved this review, first time here and glad I went with HP as my first conceal.
I like that rear sights on those handguns.
yes there are great sights
I’m looking at both with the 3.1 inch barrel. The Sig feels better in my hand which are small. Wish there was somewhere to fire both locally. Thanks so much!
Nice to see from someone else who has small hands. I have rather short fingers
My favorite part of the video was the last couple minutes where he shows up wearing a “Los Pollos Hermanos” shirt LOL
Never been here this early, been watching Hickok a long time!
Two advantages of the Hellcat Pro over the 365XL are you can mount optics without sacrificing the iron sights and the 1913 rail. Sights and triggers are subjective.
i got one this past saturday with 6 mags and a range bag love it it is the same as my glock 43x with the 15 round sheild mag. they both are great guns
Own both the xl and the hell cat, with a dot on them I’d say they’re about the same but I carry the hellcat because mag size
I love the little jokes throughout the video, they made me chuckle so thank you for that :)
365X / XL. I just love the grip on the sig and sights.
I have a hellcat and p365. Love them both but if I had to pick one it'd be the hellcat as it just has a more comfortable grip for me. I guess I don't really understand the pro model for the hellcat or the XL for the 365. That's probably me though as I am a pretty skinny guy who lives in FL so it's really difficult for me to not print when concealing, so for me it's not even a consideration. I understand how it could be for others.
Happy day to you! Know surprise to me that with those big 'ol paws, that you would like the longer grip better! 😉 Thanks for sharing this with us. I haven't shot one yet but really have liked that u shaped rear.
God bless all here.
Those talon pro grips are fantastic!
Brand new firearm owner here. Springfield Hellcat Pro is mine I went with. I'm taking classes soon. Any advice and links would be greatly appreciated. I've been devouring videos all over the RUclipss on it since.
It’s so hard to change pistols especially when I own a Hi-Point C9.😂
Hard to top perfection.
I had lots, and lots of rounds down range with a Beretta M9, became highly proficient with it. However I purchased an XDM .45ACP the year they released for my first autoloader. That XDM 45 has softer recoil than my Gen 3 G19. I am considering the regular Hellcat, as I prefer boxier grips. I carry Smiths (the rotating cylinder varient) or Walther CCP which is the most ergonomic, but failure to feed prone pistol.
I hadn't heard of Springfield Arrmory 😂
If you live in a hot state like Florida, the 43x and p365 reign supreme
I have the Springfield XDS 45 cal . But I wouldn't mind trying the Hellcat out . But my XDS is probably smaller than the Hellcat Pro , I'll have to compare the 2 .
You are the best at explaining
You’ve got to test the Hellcat Pro OSP with the 4.4” threaded barrel. Please sir 🙏🏻 I’ll send you mine.
Thanks for sharing this video always learning about firearms can't wait for the next video
I agree. The Hellcat Pro is a G19 that's slightly smaller in slide length and height, significantly thinner, and several ounces lighter. That sounds like a package that works.
Hickok is reasonable and Fair....A tall order to fill in 2022....
Great video. I salute you and John on a job well done. Much respect. I bought The Hellcat OS. Your video helped me understand and appreciate the Hellcat and glad I bought this. I also put Talon grips on it. Shoots 👍. I dont have Federal premium ammo. I have Speer Gold Dot 124 grn +P. I hope that meets your approval lol me to shoot better. Thanks
Now a days there is big difference in price between the hellcat pro and the p365...
I have the Hellcat Pro. I love the sights and capacity but hate the trigger. I wouldn't call it rough but if shot a lot in one day, I think I would have a blister.
I put the Apex trigger in my Hellcat Pro and it makes a huge difference.
ASMR if Hickok loading mags and hitting steal. Haha.
That’s my grandpa from Another lifetime ,😂😂🤷🏽♂️ you iont need no squad ,
I just traded my xds for the hell cat pro it’s wonderful I like it better than the sig and the Glock.
Are those the Talon Pro grips on the Pro? They look like they have multi colored bits in the texture.
Yes.
Kitty cat now it’s the kitty cat pro what will be next
Actually carry my pro over my p365 now. But id rather carry my p320 akg classic custom works. Wish i could find an equinox or nightmare fastback. My 1911 max is too big for me
Only thing I can see that the Glock19 has going for it, is it's extended magazine capacity capability. Short of that it's kinda a dinosaur these days,Jmo
Thanks!
Somebody needs to develop a new 1911 frame to use the thinner high capacity mags and keep the price of the gun reasonable.
Great video as always
I agree the hellcat is pressure
Not a fan of the "Birthday Cake" or "Donut Speckle" grips. Lol
Great video!
Hello Hickok fans!
Now you need to do the Taurus G3X.

I agree guns like this do put pressure on Glock because even for myself, if there were no 365XL, or Hellcat Pro, it’s possible I’d consider a Glock, but with these why would I! Anyone know if the hellcat pro will come in FDE like the standard??

“I don’t like the U sight”… proceeds to nail like 12 targets in a row
Nah thats just his aim!😬💪🏿
And could it be he simply has a lot more rounds thru the 365XL? Just something to get accustomed to
A lot people seem to like the 365 … but the hell cat is one hell of a beast as a competitor
I like the U sight, if I didn't have a red dot on my Hellcats, I'd appreciate the quicker sight picture alignment that it provides. Watching some other reviewer, he said he wished the Hellcat had blacked out rear sights, and I thought that was the dumbest suggestion for a micro-compact CCW gun I've ever heard. (but that reviewer has a pronounced anti Springfield bias). I had 2 P365s...Springfield beat them hands down...I sold the 365s.
@@Paul_Colton_ if it's the same reviewer that I think you're referring to..and I believe it is...he has also added that blacked out rears are simply his preference.

Yeah, I grabbed one 2 days ago and it’s better than it gets credit for. 15 rds in a sub compact with a full grip and MOS out the factory? Pro vs RDP which shoots easier

These new guns are just hitting the sweet spot! Slightly larger than micro carry style guns, but with amazing capacity for size along with handling that is getting closer to a full size gun! Everyone rejoice, we are living in the golden age of firearms!! Hellcat pro, Shield Plus, Sig 365xl all great guns! Sunday one of my firearms instructor took my Hellcat pro asking to shoot it. I have a Holisun eps carry on it. I was giving up on the pistol and red dot. He put 3 shots on bull's eye at 7 yds. It's my trigger discipline or lack thereof that is the problem. A bit of coaching I can shot pretty straight now. Hellcat is badass
Comedy is top tier. “ all this time I was an amateur with this one. Now I can to pro” 🤣

@@throatpunch4789 - I've fired both P365XL and Hellcat Pro, they're about the same in recoil, accuracy and speed. They're 9mm after all, not 357 Sig, they don't "jump hard". lol! I prefer the Hellcat over the P365.
@@throatpunch4789 - just a tab bit more snappy than the GLOCK 43x
@throat Punch. No more than the Sig. Not bad on Recoil at all. It’s actually lighter than my P365.
These comparisons are so helpful. I personally love my Hellcat every day as I carry it. Nice to see the "pro" version matches up so well against the Glock 19. Glock is not stepping up their game of late.
Glock hasn't stepped up their game in 30 years. All they did was add finger groves, then removed them.....that's it!

@@reachblowsdick7222 Sure, it’ll help me reconsider selling my Glock if there is something else better out there.
Love the gun reviews… but there’s something about that bowl of ammo that makes me slightly jealous… lol
Glock is never gonna be able to compete in this segment without upping their magazine/capacity game. I love Glocks from a practical and mechanical perspective and I would carry a 43x over every other gun of its kind if it carried more than 10 freakin rounds. Yes, I'm well aware of the S15 mags but I've heard not so good things about them PLUS it should be Glock innovating their firearms, not third parties. If Sig, S&W, Springfield, etc can do it so can Glock. They need to stop being stubborn and get with the times.
I’ve got a 43x mos and refuse to modify it to use those questionable mags. I also handled a hellcat pro at my lgs and it fits my hand like a glove. Might have to get one.
You’re right, I’ll definitely buy a Glock if they release a successor to the 43x MOS with 15 rounds as standard
Yeah, I hope Glock starts getting with the program. I carried a 43 for years, but a few days ago I got the P365x Romeo Zero and it’s now my carry gun. The new high capacity micros just got too compelling to ignore.
I highly recommend installing an Apex flat trigger on your Hellcat. Makes a VAST improvement!
Great review. I wonder if the Springfield will hold up like a Glock. 10-20 years and thousands of rounds….I know my Glock will go bang
Love the Hellcat but my only advice is to never dry fire your Hellcat without a snap cap. The tip of my striker broke off while dry firing (I dry fire A LOT and had close to 2,000 rounds through it). The manual explicitly says to not dry fire without a snap cap. Springfield sent me a new striker, no questions asked.
Oh wow, I didn't know this. I thought it only said not to dry fire it while it was being field stripped. I'm gonna have to check over my manual again
Never use snap caps. They’re designed to ruin your firing pin.

I own the 365xl and looked at the springfield. Not too much to negatively say about the hellcat, but I liked the trigger much better on the 365. I upgraded the magazine with mag guts internals, so I have 14 + 1 with a flush fit, and upgraded the grip module to an icarus precision aluminum unit. It's the perfect balance for myself, but to each their own. Thanks for the unbiased reviews, they're always great!
I love my Hellcat. It fits my hand perfectly flush and the 15 round extension for backup is great. Conceals nice. I just like the grip better over the P365 because it is just a bit more thicker. When I put grip tape, then its even better but I'm thinking of getting it professionally stippled.
The Croations are giving the Austrians a run for their money with the Hellcat Pro!
hellcat you say? I'm more of a devildog man myself.. sorry, no more dad jokes, I promise..
