I struggle to comprehend why some individuals, notably women and those in the LGBTQ+ community, support Hamas even though the group opposes LGBTQ+ rights and women's rights.

For some people it's probably a shared sense of oppression. Some people just have an instinctual urge to root for the underdog in any situation, because they identify with feeling powerless.

I know many people frkm countries in Africa that go back to visit home, but come back to the U.S because they make better money or there was a woman saying her country was always having bombs go off and for thr first time since a kod she went back to visit hooing she wouldn't die like this one reporter who left her kids in the U.S to report in her home country and got caught in a bombing.
