Kudos to you for being brave in moving to another country by yourself. I couldn’t imagine how you felt when you said your goodbyes. I moved to Toronto with my family many years ago. It wasn’t so bad because I was with my family. But being alone in a foreign country is really scary. Hope you have some relatives and friends to guide you in Toronto as it is a big city. All the best to you!
To fellow pinoys, dont be toxic. Be encouraging and helpful. Eh kung panget ang buhay sa Canada bakit di kayo bumalik sa Pinas? Masyado kayong nega. And sa mga supportive dito sa comments, keep it up. Magtulungan tayo hindi ung naghihilahan pababa eh di pa nga nakakaumpisa.
Nakaka iyak yung paalamanan mo with your parents. Hanga ako sa tapang mo. I can see in your face the courage. I hope your dreams come true. Wag mo kalimutan magdasal at magpasalamat sa itaas. Good luck and wish you the best!!! 🙏👍
Congrats then for being given a chance to migrate to Canada. If you have set your mind for this move, challenges you may encounter will be overcome. We never regretted adopting our host country which happens to be south of Canada. Congrats again my dear.
Totonto is considered to be one of the best city in the world. Working and living my best years here. Start over, enjoy the experience and always dream for better.
if you have good life in the Philippines everything will change living in Canada especially your comfort zone...hehehe some few tips, Saving left over foods for next meal, Learn to find savings groceries coupons, Buy On-Sale clothings or anything at walmart, walk outside to take bus transport on minus20 degress temperature on winter time, and many more... above all family homesick on birthday, christmas or family occasions back home. Wish you goodluck!
It will depend on sa outlook of sa buhay? Pero it will hard at first kasi adjustment period. Kung graduate kana and to look for jobs it will be challenging sa beginning pero once naka pasok kana then you can work your way to find your career. Ang babae hindi mahirap makakita ng trabaho dito more of pa ang mga lalaki. For me 40 yrs. In Canada it's been my life here and I'm happily retired from the bank and getting my pension no worries and just enjoy life now. You will be fine. God bless.
I’ll been here 16 years in Canada hindi madali ang buhay dito. Kung ano ang profession mo sa pinas back to zero lahat.lalo na sa pupuntahan mong lugar mahal ang cost of living dyan. Hopefully makayanan mo good luck sa new journey!

@graf_cote the pros health care, ccp , oas and wealth accumulation. The cons cold winter, cost of living and crime. Nothing wrong for FilCan living back to the Philippines. It's a guarantee in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedom section 6 !
Welcome to Canada. :) As a Filipino-Canadian, you will love your stay here. It might be a bit of challenging road in the beginning but later on you will be fine. Also dress warm :D
So you're here as a student or what? Calgary is better when it comes to sales tax, I find here (Toronto) very expensive like 13% sales tax vs 5% in Calgary.
Ganitong ganito ako nung lumipad ako ppnta din dito sa canada..prng ayaw mo itapak ung paa mo s airport ksi nkkta mo ung mga parents mo na super lungkot nila.goodluck to ur journey here mam.welcome to canada
wag kayo kontra ng kontra..kesyo wag pumunta jan sa canada kasi mayaman naman sa pinas. ano po ba mga pakieelam nio? exactly because she can so she can go wherever she want's to go. it's their money period. kung magiging successful siya dun nasakanya na un. hindi lahat pare pareho ng kapalaran. ok mga inday??
The sad part is that most especially ofw will spend half of their life sa abroad and only goes home pagtanda . So if you can stay together as a family do not waste it. Sometimes we think the grass is greener on the other side
I was 23 yr old when i have to work in other country by myself . I knew i was very young however i have to do it and accept the challenges for my ambitions in life.
Mawawala lahat ng mga "comfort mo" when you are here in Canada. You won't be living as you have lived there in the Philippines. Good luck! flipping burgers and whatnot, you will start from scratch.
I really don't get the OFW part where everybody seems to think that we are here para magpadala sa "family sa pinas" and/or "they can eat properly at home with new meals like buffet etc"... Not everyone is like that, as for me, we can eat those kinds of meals whether I'm here in Canada or in the Philippines. And hindi naman ako nagpapadala, sino ang pinapadalhan ko na wala naman? My immediate family can afford all those things. Siguro, the sacrifices especially when starting are the jobs or school. Dito bawal tamad, and swallow tlga ng pride. Di pwdeng ma arte dito, especially again, if bago pa.
