Thanks a lot for sharing your struggle getting the plastic clip off the metal bracket. I had the same issue and thought I was going crazy. I also had to break the old sensor bracket to get it off

This is a great video -- I had a reputable mechanic replace my o2 sensor (2011 element) and the engine check light came on after about 5 miles. They replaced the o2 sensor & light came on again. Took it to a dealer to see if they would reset the computer so we could narrow the problem. They refused (? said they couldn't do that but told me I had to have Honda parts with Honda labels). Replaced the downline o2 sensor hoping that was the issue because no one seems to be able to figure out the codes.... that didn't work either. Almost $1000 out and 6 months I'm getting poor gas mileage and everyone just says I need to replace the 02 sensor. Any suggestions?
One thing I've read is that the Elements are very particular about the brand of sensors used. I'm running into a similar issue with mine after one of the sensors and the catalytic converter was replaced due to damage.
I just did my 08 CRV yesterday. Unlike this video that looks fairly easy, the subframe is in the way. Despite that I used a crescent wrench with a pipe as leverage and the sensor came loose easily. I had no problem with the plug connector. I used a new denso sensor.
I got a CR-V 2011 and it's burning a lot of gas change the spark plugs air filter still burning gas can somebody tell me if this is related to what it is maybe I need to change the sensors
+Rock J Since there could be multiple reasons why you’re experiencing this difficulty with your vehicle, I strongly recommend that you have a reputable mechanic inspect it. They’ll be able to troubleshoot the problem and tell you what part or parts you’ll need for the repair. You may want to take a look at the fuel injectors - if these are putting too much gas in the chamber, this would cause some issues with the engine and eat through gas faster.
might as well spray some rustoleum black paint( POR15 would stop the rust almost forever)on the bracket while you have it down. Take that extra step, show your customers you "care" about doing it "right".
Thanks for a very well done video! Did you say what code you are repairing? if so I didn't notice. My daughter (who wrenches on her own vehicles), got a P0420 code ('05 Element). She had just pulled the head to have a burnt exhaust valve replaced, so guessing unburnt fuel had maybe clogged the cat. She tried a lacquer thinner/gasoline mix to try to clean the cat, which cleared the code, but after 600-800 miles, the code came back. We're not sure at this point if the code is from a bad cat, or from an O2 sensor. What code did you get that indicated the upstream O2 sensor? And dit your repair clear the code? Thanks!
+D Nyce909 Hello, Thank you for your interest in our videos. This is the upstream, above the catalytic converter sensor, otherwise known as the air/fuel ratio sensor.

YOU are awesome. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Excellent. !!!!
Does the heater in both a/f & 02 sensor work same way & do the wires which always seem to be same colour coded have polarity that needs to be obeyed?
Do I need the specific 22mm o2 sensor socket in order to remove the sensor?

Is that a P1157 code? Did you have to clear it? Yes you do... Thanks 👍
Is it the same for a CR-V?
The code that comes up for this is P0135 on a 2008 Honda Element. HO2S S1 Heater Circuit Malfunction,
Replace Air/Fuel Ratio Sensor AFR

Well done. Will a faulty upstream sensor causes the car to have slow acceleration off the line aside from bad gas mileage?
Yes, this could be the cause, however, we are unable to give a firm diagnosis online. Thanks for watching! +Mark Desilva
Did this fix your issue?
I need to buy the upstream and downstream sensors for a 06 honda element. is there a difference? please help thanks
+Penguins Are my favorite dinosaur I believe the wire length will be different along with a different plug.
Time for a new bracket, so i received an 02 sensor code bank one. is that down stream or upstream?
Well done.
+Terry Moore Thank you!
thank you so much

@@1AAuto but I got no check engine light on
What brand is that o2 sensor?? 🤔

Who is the manufacturer of this O2 sensor? Thanks!
Denso is om
Got my upstream sensor off with a little heat from a butane handheld torch. Nothing else worked. Was just about ready to take it to a shop.
Is okay if they put upstream and downstream reverse? The mechanic at the shop put it
reversed.
No, they do different things and are different parts
Thanks for a very well done video!

Hey, Im having the same exact situation with my element. Did you ever find a fix for this?
P0420 is almost always a bad cat.
So is that the s1 o2 plug?

Code 1157
Whole video about replacing a upstream sensor and you don’t sell them
So frustrating 😫.
