I've always loved how Pete uses his woodwinds. I love how, in the first movement, he gives us 6:8 going against 3:4. Pete is underrated. He did things that those who went ahead understood and used.
34:45 The greatest tunesmith in the history of classical music just keeps em coming. How many more great melodies did we miss out on with his untimely death!
It is not just the melody which is spectacular. The genius is also in orchestral blending of multiple lines of passages with overlapping harmonies, counter point, like no other composer in history. You can see it in the sheet music clearly.
Another Tchaikovsky masterpiece and a long-held staple of ballet houses! Interestingly, the publication's first page shows Jurgenson's publishing company. Starting at 36:54, the climactic polonaise is monumental in bringing this fantastic masterpiece to a heart-stopping conclusion .

What a masterful orchestration! Ebbs and flows and then climax!
Extraordinary piece of music -- no doubt about it.
