  • Socialists say they care about the environment. The real world shows that capitalism works better.

Saving the planet, I’m told, requires socialism!
Greed "is literally destroying our planet,” says Sen. Bernie Senders.
We need “an environment that provides for all people, not just the privileged few!” says Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Sanders and AOC, as usual, have it backwards.
Socialist governments have “the worst environmental record on the planet,” says Tom Palmer, Executive Vice President of the Atlas Network.
    Here is evidence.

totally true, in the US we should abolish all environmental laws and agencies because that is socialism and socialism bad. We need total freedom and capitalism will save us all! It is a government inspired crisis this time. The Treasury have to sell Bonds to cover the trade imbalance and the government spending imbalance. In order to sell them they have to raise interest rates and the old long-term, low risk, low interest, AAA investments (including Treasury Bonds), held by the banks (often due to government regulatory policy), become next to worthless. The next milestone is the 15th when the government issue a new batch of Bonds. I have approximately 350k stagnant in my portfolio that needs growth. The attraction of Marx is based on latent religious feelings that can't be reasoned away through learning. That's why socialism still seduces young naïve people like any cult. Marx is the socialist prophet. His myth is that of a coming judgement day (revolution) where the sinners (capitalists) are vanquished and the Just People are returned to their rightful status in socialist utopia (heaven). The omen of this imminent event is recognized as "late stage capitalism." The Marxist myth thematically follows every apocalyptic prophetic myth ever written and it captivates the imaginations of those that believe they have no religious inclinations at all, which is why they are so lacking in self-awareness of their true motives.

Socialism is often led by educated elites who think that if 'experts' ran things everything would be so much better. Unfortunately, experts are often experts in only a very narrowly defined and controlled space that their expertise falls apart in real world complexity. Many activists, oftern socialists, look for the 'easy' solutions to complex problems without any real concern for the perverse unintended consequences of their policies. They just aren't prepared to do the hard work that all real solutions require in even the most simple systems: compromise and optimization.

Policies that these so-called experts devise almost never take the human factor into account. All these wonderful ideas that look great on paper but fail miserably in reality. Bottom line is humans are competitive, and a competitive market is the only thing that works. In a perfect utopian communist society where doctors get compensated the same as janitors, all the doctors will leave and go somewhere else where they will be fairly compensated for the advanced level of work they do. It's really just simple common sense. "From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs" doesn't work in the real world where there are greedy people that want more, and talented people who won't accept less. Hence why the black market, crime, and grift was rampant in these countries that practiced this type of government.

Back before the iron curtain fell, I spent some time in Germany. There is a town there which is the location of the Weserspitze. This is where the Fulda river comes out of (then) West Germany to combine with the Werra river out of (Communist) East Germany to form the Weser river which then flows to the North Sea at Bremen. You could stand right at the junction of the two (three?) rivers and see the water from the east had a head on it like beer. The 2 rivers would NOT mix. You could go 20 miles (?) downstream to Rheinhardshagen and look at the river and still tell the difference in the water sources.

Unfortunately now, we only have “Property Rights” if we pay “property taxes”. It is not, truly “Property Rights” through ownership any longer, but a privileged Right through a “leasing tax”, because failure to pay that tax results in a “tax foreclosure” by government. That’s how, ever where in the US., we currently pay for k-12 schools, our public education system, and subsidize the county hospitals. It is a socialist program; guaranteed payment by government coercion “pay the tax or government can take the home to recover the back taxes”.
