I went to the thrift store yesterday looking for books to use in my journaling. I found a beautiful encyclopedia of butterflies around the world. I also go to five bellow and Barnes and Noble to find cheaper books so I can fussy cut pictures. I've been fussy cutting for aver a week
There's something so soothing about fussy cutting--and when you're done you've such a collection of gems to use. I splurged on a pair of pretty fussy cutters that I can use with both hands--makes the process even better somehow. lol--crafters and their toys 😂😎
My retired racing greyhound loves to hang out with me in my craft room. I will play music on the iPad and just relax and create. She loves Kenny Rogers! Anyways you found a lot of cool stuff! There is an awesome library not too far from me in Freeport Pa. Their basement is like another library and everything there is for sale. They sell the kids books for 10 cents each and all, other books are a quarter. Two of my best finds there were a big box of the USPS yearbooks from the years 1981 thru 2000! They only wanted $3 for the WHOLE BOX! And ALL of the stamps were still in the books in the plastic envelopes!!! And then another time I bought a giant plastic 18 gallon tote FULL TO THE TOP of hundreds of wooden rubber stamps! All for $10!! I frequent that library often and always find something.
Awwww--hugs to your beastlie from the Bostons 🐾🤍🖤 That library sounds like an absolute gold mine!!! The postage stamps WOOOHOOO! What finds you've had. Too cool!! 🤗😎 Love the name of your channel--🤓🤩
I'm new around here. Love your videos and your ideas, but, when it takes to books, I just too hard for me to destroy them. Maybe that's why my house looks pretty much like a library. 😅😅 Gotta give some of them a different life. ❤
Welcome 🌊 So glad you're here 🤓 I totally get it, I've been a book L💜VER my whole life, I'm a writer and English professor: words and books are my life. When I first started in junk journaling, it was just junk. I nearly threw up when I saw the first video featuring "gutting" books. That's just not right. However, I've been in this a few years now and it is giving the old books or less-loved books a new life, like you said, a different life. I had a really hard time destroying my first book for sure. I've come to love my "art books" I now get to use books as gifts, journals, planners and keepsake books, MORE ways to love them up. And collect them in a different fashion. Many of the books that get used in junk journaling were destined for the trash heap and that's no good. Of course, in my thrifting I've found loads of books that I can not bear to tear up so they're added to my personal library too. lol, junk journaling gives us ONE more reason to shop for books 😂
I agree...it's the thrill of hunt! Thanks for sharing
Thanx for watching!! 🤗
But...I'm starting to feel a bit like a hoarder--I KNOW better, but just can't stop myself. lol 🤪 😎

You are so welcome! 😎 Thanks for watching 😉
Enjoyed Ty!
Glad you enjoyed! 💅🏼😉 One nail tech to another 😎
Such great finds.Mostly the thrift shops in UK rarely sell stuff for that cheap.
Well, that stinks...Are there other options like charity/church shops or at least second-hand book stores that may have some goodies on the cheap?

Hello my fellow Boston Terrier owner ❤️
Hi Hi HI!! Welcome!!! Do tell me about your Boston(s). 🤗
You should take a piece of paper the right size when you go shopping - that’s what I do
lol--I surely thought "measuring" would do the trick...hahhahhahhahh!
Oh by the way I just found ur fb today
Excellent--that's no easy task, lol. I'm really not good at FB, every time I go there I get lost on my own pages 🤪🙃😂
Measuring is so overrated 🙄😝
