    Is this an add on measure to protect the foundations of existing breakwater or can it be a stand alone alternative to breakwater?

      In this case, ACETube geotextile tube indeed serves as an additional protection for breakwater foundations, but it can also be a viable solution for constructing breakwaters. For instance, the ACETube was effectively used in a project in the UAE (www.geoace.com/case/Marine-and-Coastal-Structures-Construction/The-Project-of-an-L_Shaped-Sand_Containing-Breakwater%2C-Ras-Al-Khaimah%2C-UAE), where it formed a permanent breakwater structure.
