I’m trying this with my cat today. He has recently developed arthritis so he can’t clean himself very well anymore, leaving his back and tail oily. The groomer at my pet store suggested it and she also suggested dampening him with a moist towel a little bit and brushing him since he is double coated (Maine Coon mix). Thank you for the review of it and thank your sweet little boy for his patience ❤️
I’m so sorry to hear that! :( have you looked into CBD treats for him? Just to help the pain of course! My cousin has a pit bull mix who has awful skin allergies (she’s allergic to almost everything- even grass!) and she uses cbd when her pups skin is irritating her and it mellows her out a bit but really stops her from scratching! It also helps pups and kitties with pain or discomfort they may be having! I would go to a real cbd shop though, I’m not sure I trust the cbd treats they sell at smoke shops :/ and yes! That would work wonderfully! I always suggest brushing after the waterless shampoo! If you don’t rub it in good it can leave little white flakes on them, but my cat has never had a problem with it (: I love Maine coons! I thought binx was mixed but he’s so tiny, and it turns out he’s just very sweet and quiet (:
@@SoniAnne I’ve been thinking about CBD for him actually!! I started him on glucosamine powder mixed with his food and that’s doing a world of good! Yeah, Finn also has some seasonal allergies (mostly late spring and early to mid summer) so he gets flakey. Brushing and allergy meds used to be enough and he could do the rest, but starting this fall he just can’t seem to do it anymore. I’m so grateful to have found so many awesome people online while I try to figure out what to do. The vet wanted $5000 for MRIs and other imaging just to tell me what we already suspect: arthritis related to weight (he’s on a diet now to lose a little of the chub) and breed. He even said that’s likely what it is, but he still wants to do all these expensive tests :/ definitely gonna look into CBD oil for him (I’m in Canada so all of that is super legal and I can find it just about anywhere, but I’ll still be looking around for pet stuff so I know it’s properly dosed). Thank you so much for the help!! ❤️❤️
Aw that has to be tough hun, stay strong! And if you’re looking for a good diet food, when binx starts to get a little pudge i switch his food to hills science diet light cat food! He’s on the normal hills science diet food, but by the time I get to half the bag he’s already visibly lost weight! I stopped doing that though because I like him a little fluffy but I want him to be healthy. It works for him, but just like every human is different so are cats! Hills is a little bit pricey and I’m not sure how much it is in Canada, but if you already have food that works don’t change it! ❤️ do you have pet insurance for your kitty? It might help with the tests later on down the road if you decide to take that route! ❤️❤️
@@SoniAnne no, we can’t really afford insurance (the lowest I could get quoted for was like $200/month and it didn’t cover much) but we’re still looking. He’s on performatin weight control food now (he loves the brand and has a weird tummy from eating plastic when he was dumped by his first owners) so I don’t wanna change it up too much, but I’ll look into Hills too if this doesn’t work :)
I did my Russian Blue today. She didn’t seem to mind it. Nevered ran or meowed out. It took about 6 or 7 palmfuls for mine. The excess got toweled off. Combed it through while it was still a little wet. Fed her her favorite cat food & let her dry. Combed it out again. I noticed she darkened a little but gotten her very clean. After a day or so she softened back up. She didn’t seem to mind the smell. Also, she never licked herself until it was dry. I was surprised by that.
I used a different brand called whisker city and my cats fur lays a bit stiff as if a thin film is coating the fur. But thatll be gone with another brush or when shes licking through her fur. Dandruff was a lot less about 70-80% gone. She had no stress from this and she smells great, prob a good idea to do this on a warm day as her fur still feels slightly damp 30 min later but so shiny.
You guys did a great job! I need to use something like that on my sweet gal Tiger. I think it would work for her. She goes in and out so needs a bath every now and again but I think she would scratch the hell out of me if I did not have help. I wont clip her nails as I know it is one of her only protection/s.
MikeSki1969 I never clip binxs nails because I’m my opinion if they have scratching posts they are already doing it for themselves. And I wish I could let Binx play outside but I’m worried he won’t come back.
@@SoniAnne Yes, I see what you are saying. I am 100% disabled and it is hard to chase Tiger down. I love her very much and let her come in, she lays by me on the couch and is sweet. I have a special house with a warming bad for her right by the front door. When she came up to the house she was around 2 years old. Wish we could share pictures on here as I would share a picture of her. She is spoiled. I use Bravecto for fleas every 3 months. She gets the best of everything, I just wish I was physically able to do more training etc. Outside is scary as there are cars etc. other cats. I always watch her eat to be sure nobody steals her food or let her come in and eat. Your cat definitely loves you all and so blessed to have you all.
I agree, and thank you! Yes I would love to see your fur baby ❤️❤️❤️ she sounds spoiled ❤️ I’m sure your little tiger doesn’t leave far. She knows where the food and warm is ❤️
I’m sorry to hear that!! Hope you’re doing okay ❤️ but yes this is very easy! As long as you can massage the shampoo in good there should be no problems
I have a 16 year- old long-haired cat (slightly longer hair than your kitty) . Hes mainly an outside cat but loves to come inside. Problem is that he is super dirty with dirt and dust from being outside. Would you recommend this product to try out on him? I have never bathed him so I don't know how comfortable he would be with me bathing him using real water and shampoo. Any recommendations would be awesome. Thank you!!!
You could try it, but I’m not sure it would kill any ticks or fleas your little fuzz ball might have picked up outside! My cat is also only an indoor cat, so I’m not sure how it would work on mud or things of the sort. You could try it, or I would use a warm wash cloth with some kitty shampoo and try scrubbing the little guy! I do that with my cats behind.. since he has long hair and all
I just bought a cat, this is my first time caring for one. Mine is almost 3 months old, he has ear mites and I’ve been giving him ear drops to cure those but the blood from his ears stained his scruff. Do you think dry shampoo could remove stains from their fur?
It should, but I would try giving him a bath. Start small and gentle in a sink, so he gets used to it now so that way when he’s older it won’t be a terrible time. I like to work with my cat, they are very independent animals so I will do what I want on their time. When it’s time to brush my cat or bathe him I will follow him around the house until I get the job done
Interesting product. I am a little surprised that its rinse-less because as you well know cats take their baths with their tongue. I hope your boy is ok. He certainly is a very beautiful cat. Maine Coon?
I was skeptical about it being no rinse, but I’ve been using it for months now (I only do it once a month or if my dog slobbers all over him, because I hate the smell of my dogs slobber on him) and he is okay! I haven’t noticed anything wrong with his skin, and he hasn’t gotten sick! And I thought he had some in him for a long time! But he’s 2 now, and he hasn’t grown much at all. He’s very tiny.
All the water less cat shampoo makes my kitties fur too oily so I have to give her a bath she doesn't like it but doesn't hate it The other one doesn't even like being touched to much so she kinda does her own thing
It says you don’t have too, and I don’t. Someone in the comments suggested using a wet wash cloth first to wipe the cat down first to help! And it really helps to be able to work the shampoo in better :)
No unfortunately:/ for the you’ll need to get a special shampoo, a flea comb, and call around to some vets who sell the chewable flea medication! I HATE frontline (the kind you rub into their fur) because it’s so expensive and doesn’t work.

so does it actually work??????!!!!!!!???
Hareem Chaudhry for me and my cat yes it works, I don’t think it’s bath replacement, but it works if your kitty likes to get into mischief!
