I think them slowly realizing that The Dog Island's premise is every bit as horrifying and morbid a setup as they were joking about is one of my five favorite GG moments ever. It's just fantastic. It's fate gift-wrapping them the joke.
Mario Hyrulia the strange thing about this for me is I've played this game when I was younger. And its actually pretty long, and pretty good! Theres even a boss in a temple at the end of the game. Only thing is that the grumps havent even TOUCHED the dark side of this game. It gets way sadder!

For all of you who don't know, "The Dog" is a collection of artistic photograph pictures of various breeds of dogs taken though a fisheye lens, hence the big heads.
I think this game was based on the "The Dog" stuffed animals. They had the huuuuuge heads with adorably cute noses. Remember those commercials where they'd get a dog to put his face into the camera lens to simulate that sort of big-headedness? Either way, this game is cute.

I mean think about it- the memetic characters, the simple gameplay, the REALLY dark material, the overall cuteness and the small innuendo spread across the place! Even though this came out in 2007, it still seems like they knew the type of people this game was geared towards when they were making it.

I miss dog island, it's a slice of pure surprise gold. The game sounds like a cheap cash in and yet has such a heart string pulling journey.
