Thanks to the google algorythm I found these and subscribed, its great to see you doing online work again Rowan. There are some great reminders in there Thankyou very much for sharing.
@@messylaura Rowan does good stuff, its great to see traditional tecniques done well, there are very few smiths out there that know how to work wrought iron or how to do some of the welds Rowan uses
Flux is used as a barrier to stop oxidizing on the surface of the Iron which will impair the welding. A clean neutral fire, where the all the oxygen from the blast has been combined with the fuel to create the heat will require little or no flux. Historically Silver Sand was used with wrought iron, and Borax and Propriety Brands of flux on mild steel.

Welcome back Rowan, we've all missed you !
Nice work! Thank you Sir!
Glad to have found you again Rowan.
Well done video. That is a great looking anvil by the way. Cheers!
Very nice and I bet it wasn’t his first time!
Wow, you made that look so easy. Nicely done!
Beautiful! Since everything looked so smooth and easy I can't guess how long it took you to do this.
Nice work dude. Such a great work 👍👍
well, did i enjoy that? yes
Those welds are beautiful. Did you use flux or are you working with wrought iron instead of mild steel?
Super job… one day!
do you use any flux when you weld? can you make a video of how you handle your welds in the forge please?
I second this request. :+1:
