Major land reform laws need to be passed for this purpose to remove the encroached railway land in almost all cities and villages. This will trigger the greatest refugee crisis the world has ever seen.
State govt machinery needs to become more active ignoring vote bank politics to bulldoze all the protesting encroachers' homes who were granted railway land illegally decades ago in exchange for votes.
Central or state govts need to enforce laws to remove stray cattle which will trigger most villages in all states.
Only then can the fencing start.
These were the problems. Solution is to either do all the above swiftly and and forcefully or use too much taxpayer money to keep certain people's mouth shut by bribing them.

Wlectric grids can go down due to failures and power supply shortage or wars/emergencies. Reliance on electricity is also dangerous and can stop total movement in india in one shot. As u rightfully said keep 1-2 diesel in all yards every 2-4 hours away covering all key routes rather than exporting them away.

Custom bulldozers can be attached to diesel loco to clear tracks of felled trees during cyclones, where OHT would have got affected.
The alternator may also be connected to the engine to provide an emergency power supply to any place around the track affected during emergencies like hurricanes.
Diesel locos can also be attached to existing trains with a suitable alternator to replace the generator van which powers AC in all trains. This way it will resolve dual purpose as power supply to coaches as well as backup loco in case of failure of the electric loco.
Some locos can finally be saved as a heritage for future generations in museums.

@@DJ-xe8nr What nonsense !!! Don't comment with zero knowledge....
Diesel is not used for its power density.
The following list compares the power/energy density of the various fuel types.
      Fuel Type -- Energy Density(MJ/kg)
      -------------------------------------------------------
      Ethanol -- 26.8
      Biodiesel -- 38
      Crude oil -- 44
      Diesel -- 45
      Gasoline/Petrol -- 46
      Natural gas -- 55
Power density is more in Petrol and Natural Gas (LNG/CNG).
The reason why diesel is used is "safety".
Petrol create a vapour which toxic, highly explosive and unstable at the same time. The risk of explosion increases further when the whole platform is tremendously shaking the whole time.
The risk can only be mitigated (not eliminated) by letting the vapour escape but that would greatly reduce the final thrust output of the whole engine making it commercial unsustainable. On top of that Petrol is always more costly than diesel.
But a calculated mix of Ethanol and Biodiesel can reach the power density quite near to Diesel but at a significantly lower cost. So even if the overall fuel consumption will increase the lower per unit costs will offset that. Additionally the pollution and maintenance costs will go down drastically with Ethanol and Biodiesel. Only challenge is that it needs new types of engines.
Natural Gas has the highest power density but the lowest per unit cost, pollution and maintenance. But it needs a lot of R&D to prove that it is safe and doesn't pose threats of explosion similar to petrol vapours.
That is what I was curious about.

Excellent video with photography and explanation. Thanks too much. Please make video on current work status of Kolhapur Vaibhavwadi rail line work. This route is sanctioned in February 2016 Indian railway budget and hounourable former rail minister Mr SURESH PRABHU Saheb has sanctioned Rs 250 crore Rs to this project but this project is not completed yet. Government of India and railway officers should pay attention to this matter so that this project would be completed in target time 2022 2023. Thanks once again for informative video. God will bless you certainly.

In some countries the locomotives can be used both as diesel and electrical locomotives. This is modern technology. India should find a similar solution this problem rather than making diesel locomotives redundant.

Electrification work which our Government is doing is a very good work. But I don't know that will Electrification succeed in areas like Karnataka, Rajasthan and Assam. Bcoz in Karnataka and Assam Ghat sections is more and tracks have been built with very difficulty. In Rajasthan also bcoz of high temperatures laying Electric Caternary Wires is very difficult.
