IMO Eddie and this entire friend group don’t deserve Katherine. They’ve each disrespected and kept secrets from her. She’s done nothing but help them. Including by making sure her husband’s mistress didn’t lose her house. Meanwhile they all knew Eddie was having an affair and didn’t tell her. Most of them knew he was the father and didn’t tell her. They’ve gone against her at every turn and if Eddie gets with Delilah they’d support them immediately and forget about Katherine.
I have to disagree with some of that. I honestly think out of all of them, Gary would probably be the most upset if Eddie ended up with Delilah. He didn't take it easy on Eddie at all when he found out AND he still gives Eddie some shots here and there about his infidelity (sometimes low blows in my opinion.) He also holds D accountable...definitely. Looks like Gary even has a closer relationship with Katherine and Eddie because they made him Theo's legal guardian after them right? I do think everyone was put in an awkward situation. But they probably wanted Eddie to be the one to tell Katherine. And all of them knew Charlie was Eddie's daughter but they even kept that from Eddie. So they needed Eddie and Delilah to bring out the truth themselves. I personally would've confronted them at some point, but too much has already happened and it's not until you're in their shoes will you understand why they made certain decisions. SPOT ONE OMAR. They KNEW he was cheating on her; they just did NOT know the identity of the homewrecking cohort. Their indignance when they find out it is Delilah the spouse of their supposed best friend Jon who had just committed suicide is at best disingenuous and at worst complete duplicitous bullcr@p owed only to their sense of shame/guilt at the death of their friend! THEY ARE ALL total PoSs!
This is a perfect example of how forgiveness and love will help any couple heal. She’s not accepting the behaviour but she is giving herself the chance to create the happiness she wants with the man she loves.
I hate how people say that affairs are mistakes. A mistake is forgetting to turn off the stove before leaving the house, or taking the wrong exit off the highway. Affairs are CONSCIOUS decisions. They take careful, willful deception and planning to maintain secrecy and continue betrayal of a partner. And there are a mountain of lies that must be told and maintained. In fact, ever moment with a partner when s/he trusts you and has faith in you, while YOU are cheating on them, is an act of betrayal, deception and willful lying to their face. Affairs are mistakes, they are reflections and products of immense character flaws: namely, extreme selfishness, intractable narcissisms, cunning nature, a sense of superiority and self-importance at being able to successfully scheme, plot, deceive, and pull one over on another person. Forgiveness for mistakes, for thoughtlessness is one thing. Forgiveness for something that is demonstrative of a person's true nature is just blindness. For example, would you ever "forgive" a pedophile and allow that person to take care of and watch over any children ever again (esp. without other responsible adult supervision close by)?
"I'll do anything for you"...really, Eddie?? Where was that consideration when you were swearing you loved Delilah and were ready to leave Katherine? I have some leftover good feelings for David Giuntoli from Grimm but, UGH, I still think Katherine should dump his ass. Or make him work super hard to win her back. It would be hard enough to forgive an affair and try to mend a marriage when you know the other woman is out of the picture. But to try it when the other woman is still friendly with your husband and they still cross paths fairly regularly AND there's a baby to forever remind you of the betrayal??? Nope, I couldn't, wouldn't, do it.
It's just the character. Have not watched this yet as I've just finished grimm recently. But I definitely see a lot of potential in David giuntoli as an actor also he's quite underated.
Where was that consideration when he was fielding a call from the husband of the woman he is naked in bed with, whilst his wife was busily working to provide for the family?!
As a wife, I think I will cannot forgive if my husband do the things that eddie did. Katherine is my second fav (the first is maggie) but in season 2 katherine might be my fav.
I hate the fact that he broke her and she thinks he needs to help fix her. But I understand she loves him still so she feels he could heal his hurt. I love her character so much I want her with him, but i think I just want her to win over the next chick cux really I want better for her too a New love thats all hers
