So grateful that you shared your latest pens, not only do these live colors have a nice color range but the bullet tip might make it easy to add to down strokes for faux calligraphy 🤗
Flowy lettering style is what I want to learn for the longest time. Finally my zebra mildliner brush was almost here so now I can study about flowy lettering 🥰
This video discusses a subject I have been wondering about, thank you, Sarah for making it. As to the latter part of the video where you allude to experimenting with the shapes of letters, could you possibly speak a little more on that? Are there absolutely no rules when it comes to modern lettering apart from balance? I am trying to apply your instructions to the form of lettering that might be termed "Folk Art", for lack of a better term. Obviously I am having trouble understanding how to go from the "rules" of uniform calligraphy letters ( which are so lovely and elegant on certificates and wedding announcements) to hand-lettering, which seems to be more individually conceived, taking in a knowledge of what works, what unifies, and what draws the eye in. I suppose there is an artistic sense that comes to some people naturally. For the rest of us, especially before we have the ability to visualize ahead of time, it seems to take repeated experimenting and failure. Is there any way to shorten the learning curve besides getting stuck on endless drills? I have a feeling that really good lettering and layout artists had some type of art college training in design that the rest of us lack. Thanks for reading this!
I looked up "staedtler thin textsurfers" and didn't see any results. The staedtler triplus highlighters are also called textsurfers. Hopefully that helps!
Sarah, I bought your book, and I loooove it! But now, I need you to write a 2nd one, with more tips and projects! How about it? 😉😊😍 I love this post! Thank you 🙏
Good tip about not sticking exactly to the guidelines - I can get myself quite stressed if it doesn't come out perfectly!🥴Truth is if we all lettered exactly the same we might as well have used a computer!🤷🏼♀️🤣
My lettering was rigid earlier I changed it to flowy but no tutorial was there now I want it to be rigid again when this tutorial is up here Help me out😭😂😂
OMG yes! I have struggled so hard with the flowy, stretched out lettering and had given up. This is perfect! Thank you so much. :)

I can’t find the link to these work sheets. Do you have a website I can access the worksheets?
How you like the live color pens vs. the Staedtler Triplus highlighters?
And can you explain/show the difference between the Staedtler thin textsurfers and the Staedtler triplus highlighters? Thanks.

@@EnsignInsights Oh yes, I didn't realize🙈How do the Triplus textsurfer highlightlighters rank against the Monami color live markers for you?
Please tell us where you got your clipboard?! I love it! 😍🌈
Thank you! It's the cutest! I got it at TJMaxx!
@@EnsignInsights it’s so pretty! I am using a plain one right now and it’s just not as fun as yours HAHA thanks!

Aww that's so kind of you to say! Thank you! Let me just tell my editor...😅
Hi I posted a comment on your paper video asking a question , but i thought I better tell you here because idk if you check your old video's comments
I sometimes like to just do random scribbles with my whole hand to help with my flowy letters
YES!! That's super helpful!!
@@EnsignInsights I know it’s also a fun background for a quote
U should try that

Yes! Exactly! The best part of hand lettering is that we're doing it by hand so we get to have the little unique details and imperfections!
My lettering was rigid earlier
I changed it to flowy but no tutorial was there
now I want it to be rigid again when this tutorial is up here
Help me out😭😂😂
Haha that's too funny! Now you just have to practice opposite!
😍😍😍😍
