⚡ 💀 💕 / 🍫 💝️ This footage is from 'Legend 1997', from December 2013, celebrating the 16th birthday of the lead singer, Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto). They are now 21, 20 and 20 years old. The BABYMETAL members are very aware that their initial impression is often "WTF?". They compare that to what they first thought when they were introduced to metal music. This whole concept of combining JPop/Idol music with Metal could have been a disaster, but the quality of the singing, songwriting, choreography and staging take it to another level. 'Gimme Chocolate!!' is definitely one of their "poppier" tracks. They have been joined on stage for this song by members of Korn, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and DragonForce. Obviously not all at the same time. : )
Great reaction - and even the girls know perfectly well the first thing people think is WTF?! They quite enjoy doing that to people. You are right, there is nothing quite like them for making people want to headbang and dance all at the same time, others have tried to follow their lead, none have got it as right as BABYMETAL - and they do it every time in every song. Also, unlike nearly all other bands who have their own sound and style and stick to it, BABYMETAL make every song different. They (with the Kami Band who have supported them with the instrumentals in all live shows since the end of 2013) play virtually every metal genre (thrash, speed, power, black, death, Viking folk, prog etc) and then blend in other styles like ska, reggae, EDM, dub step, rap, pop - even Bollywood in one of their latest songs - and they make it work every time. They do what other bands can't and wouldn't even try. This was filmed in December 2013 during 'Legend 1997' - the lead singer's 16th birthday show. She is Su-metal and the whole concept was formed and developed around her, her voice and her stage presence. The other two girls are Yuimetal and Moametal and they were 14 in this video. They were aged 12, 11 and 11 when they started in 2010, Su-metal is now 21, Moametal and Yuimetal are 20. Sadly Yuimetal left the band in October 2018 after struggling with her health for the previous 12 months (she had to miss Su-metal's 20th birthday shows in December 2017 and was absent for all of their US and European legs of the 2018 tour). Her place is currently being filled by any one of 3 supporting dancers (known as 'Avengers') on the current tour. I see Road of Resistance has already been recommended - great choice for something completely different from them. Every single one of their songs is worth a reaction - there are no fillers, they are all different and their fan base is so diverse that every one of them is somebody's favourite. I would also second MacTaipan's recommendation for 'Headbanger' live at Legend 1997 and I'll add 'Megitsune' at Budokan Red Night (or Black Night, both are excellent).
Wow reading all this has peaked my interest! People have been recommending so many of there songs and vids that i can safely say there will be ALOT more Babymetal on the channel as i want to experience everything they have to offer!

"Dunno whether to headbang or dance" ...or laugh your head off! Only Babymetal can do this. Welcome to Future Metal. Playing in UK soon, London, Manchester, Cardiff, Glasgow.
Great reaction! Babymetal is known to inevitably put a smile on your face. _Gimme Chocolate_ is the one of their most pop songs, this MV uses the video footage from late 2013 performance and a studio audio. In their early days they used a backing track for music (vocals were live anyway) so the skeleton performers in this footage are not actually playing, just miming. However even then they used to have a real live band called Kami Band appearing on stage for the encore part (e.g. _Headbanger_ from the same concert: ruclips.net/video/QEsOaMbNFww/видео.html ). Since early 2014 the skeletons are totally gone and all their shows are greatly empowered by the highly professional musicians from Kami Band who've become an essential part of live Babymetal experience. The definite showcase is 2015 performance of _Road of Resistance_ ruclips.net/video/zTEYUFgLveY/видео.html. Looking forward to your new Babymetal reactions!

Thanks for choosing to react to BABYMETAL, they're amazing! As someone who is new to the group, I thought I'd give you and your followers a little background on them. BABYMETAL is a Japanese Kawaii Metal group consisting of (for the most part) SU-METAL on lead vocals, YUIMETAL and MOAMETAL on backing vocals/dancing, or "SCREAM AND DANCE" as they like to call it. I say 'for the most part' as Yui & Moa have a few songs that they do as duets without Su and Su has a few songs she does as solos whilst Yui & Moa take a well deserved break. They were formed in 2010 as part of the idol goup Sakura Gakuin, before touring on their own in 2011 and have gone from strength to strength. They started singing to backing tracks with actors in skeleton suits pretending to play instruments (known as BABYBONES) but soon incorporated the Kami Band into their concerts, bringing them in full time at the end of 2013. The Kami Band consists of some of Japan's premier musicians on rotation based on availability. The most popular configuration consisting of Takayoshi Ohmura and Mikio Fujioka on guitar with Leda Cygnus as stand-in, BOH on bass and Aoyama Hideki on drums. These are the people you will see most often in videos. Since the untimely passing of Mikio at the end of 2017 they have enlisted the talents of Isao Fujita on guitar. At the end of 2018 YUIMETAL left the band because of health problems and in 2019 there are 3 girls named AVENGERS that will take her place in a rotating manner. Below is a list of some of their best performances that I hope you will consider for future reactions. I'm just annoyed that when they come back to the UK next year, I think I'll be out of the country.
Good review/react. Here are my suggestions 1. Road of Resistance Live in Japan- their masterpiece. epic wall of death, greatb singing, great audience reaction. 2. Head Banger Live Legends 1997. Epic audience reaction. 3. Karate the official video- epic work of art. 4. Pa Pa Ya feat. F. Hero. Crazy audience, epic rapping and metal
I was thinking the same thing as I was scrolling thru the comments. I've already seen most of the Nendo test and Su's Graduation. Neon is my favorite reactor.
Subbing to join the train of discovery, a lot of others have already filled you in with info/suggestions. It's gonna be a blast.. they have a ton of variety in their songs :) I last saw them in London a few months back.. the crowd at BABYMETAL gigs is always insane but friendly and LOUD, I hope you can make it to one of their Feb 2020 UK gigs! I'm just annoyed that when they come back to the UK next year, I think I'll be out of the country.
Aw man that sucks i hope you get to see them soon! Im also loving Band Maid atm :P
Good review/react. Here are my suggestions
1. Road of Resistance Live in Japan- their masterpiece. epic wall of death, greatb singing, great audience reaction.
2. Head Banger Live Legends 1997. Epic audience reaction.
3. Karate the official video- epic work of art.
4. Pa Pa Ya feat. F. Hero. Crazy audience, epic rapping and metal
It's pretty funny watching this after seeing how far down the fox hole you've gone!
Welcome down the fox hole \m/🦊\m/
i love how much fun yui is having in this song so many smiles
That is awesome! I heart emoji baby metal!
BabyMetal “ Death” legend 1997
Miku ended the post with:
"Sorry for the wall of text, but you better get used to it"
Lol, no truer words were ever written!
By the ay, I resent that she called us "a hoard [sic] of fans"... we're not a horde, we are just a passionate group of well-behaved people who like a band... #notacult
Kitsune up, Po!
No anime openings, but they've opened for Judas Priest, Metallica & Red Hot Chili Peppers as well as selling out stadium headline shows of their own.
It’s hilarious watching this back now.
Great reaction! Into the foxhole and moar babymetal! :D
I’ve heard of them they do sound awesome
Great reaction! realy liked you laughing of joy. Babymetal does make people happy...with metal
AKATUKI reaction please
Akatsuki.... But which one? They are all so good.
Good for Miku, of Band-Maid, for the recommendation:)
We are going to blow up your channel mate. You do good work. Hit up Karate, Distortion, Akatsuki soon. Thanks.
There is LADYBABY Nippon Manju, it's like Babymetal but cuter and weirder.
If you want to see some really good anime metal song you can react to "Maximum The Hormone Zetsubou Billy" and "Maximum The Hormone What's Up People".
so good reaction
