    The hare’s ear rubber leg is amazing. The fish on my local river go nuts for it!

    Loved the video and the simplicity of your approach. I tie some very similar patterns.
    Quick question. On your #1 fly (pheasant tail) you said that you use UV chocolate dubbing. I have only been able to find chocolate brown or UV brown. Where do you find UV chocolate (company, website)? Would UV Brown work as well?

    See when ur tying ur pheasent tail davy is it countersink beads ur using..cheers

    • @TheDavedownie
      @TheDavedownie  6 месяцев назад

      Hi Matey, I use whatever tungstens I have, if they are slotted I will hold them up and put turns of thread behind the bead to keep it in th eright place if that makes sense. But normal countersunk generally works better.

    Some cracking patterns there Dave, just a question on tying your Pheasant Tail, is there a reason you prefer to tie on curved hooks? I’d seen videos of John Tyzack tying them on curved hooks and always wondered what the reasoning behind it was but I have to agree, a top nymph pattern 👍🏻

    • @TheDavedownie
      @TheDavedownie  6 месяцев назад +1

      I like the shape of it on the curved hook to be honest and always have as the natural nymph on the way up will be moving in a swaying way as it climbs to the surface if that make sense, cheers for watching and tighty lines

    Will these 5 flies work on lakes

    • @TheDavedownie
      @TheDavedownie  6 месяцев назад

      Possibly but as they are weighted bit harded to cast , Ive used PT weighted nymphs before on some of the waters up here and caught well on them, but not the best for casting :)
