A little nostalgic, here is a trip we did three years ago with Carl and Alex. Looking forward to see them back here again once the pandemic is over! Thank you Jason for taking us out as always!
Amazing memories from a great session Rodney!!!
Hi Carl and alex big fans and well in Rodney and also will there be another rod with Carl and alex with rodney
Bon chovy are great their guides are fun and knowledgeable and put you on fish!
Definitely Kirk! Jason and his team do an awesome job.
Bon Chovy guides get you into the fish, that's for sure. Great vid.
Thanks!
Oh man, I love the Sandheads fishery for chinook. It is sad they closed it till September 1st this year.
Great video Rod, very enjoyable. What a gorgeous day to be out fishing! Tried my luck out there a couple weeks ago, my results weren't as good 🤣. Keep this great content coming!
Thanks Paul! That was an exceptionally good day, I don't think the UK lads realized it haha...
Great video Nice salmon. Thank you for sharing
Thanks
Love the video rod
Thanks Chris!
Here I was all excited about fishing for brook trout and rainbows tomorrow at a new lake...now I just want to catch a giant salmon😜🎣
Lets switch Camille! I am actually so excited to do some brookie fishing and testing out some new rods this fall but it doesn't look like I'm going to have time to pop up that way to do it.... bah!
@@FishingwithRod Got a football brookie 😁

We don't have the ocean, but we definitely have plenty of options when it comes to fishing year round. :)
Nice video Rod 👍, teaching the English lads how to catch Salmon 🙏. Maybe they can teach you how we , catch Carp English style 🤪
Hehe thanks! Maybe one day!
can fish this from the bellingham wa side
Here from Carl and Alex Instagram story✌🏼😂
Yes!! Thank you. 👍
Hey Rod, How close to the fraser mouth are you fishing there ?
Hi Ron, I don't know the distance, but if we were to drive the boat to Steveston, it probably would have only taken us about 10 minutes.
Great as always Rod! Any recommendations for underwater camera? Btw, is it the time to fish for salmon in Coquihalla river? There is something so mesmerizing about that river..
Thanks! I use a GoPro Hero 5 with a waterproof case. Coquihalla River is closed to salmon fishing.
@@FishingwithRod Thanks Rod
Great video Rod!! The ones you released were wild? Just wondering. Also how does salmon fishing this year compare with prior years?
Thanks Michael! We released those ones because we didn’t really need to bring home that many fish even though the regulations allow us to (those chinooks were huge! Way too much meat). Unlike coho salmon, there really are no differences between hatchery and wild chinook salmon because the hatcheries only clip a very small percentage of the fish at the moment, and the regulations allow you to keep any chinook salmon, whether they are wild or hatchery. There is a strong push in the recreational fishing community to have all hatchery chinook salmon clipped so at places where wild chinook salmon are endangered, we could still fish and keep hatchery fish and released the wilds.
Hi rod I was wondering if you have been to Squamish river lately. I heard there is lots of salmon there. Is this true?
I haven't fished the Squamish since 2014.
I am planning to go this Wed. I will let you know!
@@mr.b5583 thanks! That would be great
How far were you in the bay from shore?
Hmm a couple of kilometres.
@@FishingwithRod Then my friend it is the time to take it to the next level. Kayak fishing for salmon.
Here is one of my friend on Lake Ontario. He is with a Hobie with an electric motor.

Myself I have a different dingy with a transom that can take up to 10Hp, but is not a boat, is more of a skiff (Wavewalk S4).
On lake Erie to chase walleye I have to go at least 10km out from shore during the summer time.
Here on the Great lakes trolling is the way to go. Have fun and be safe.
first! love them vids Rod!
Thanks!
Vedder river salmon catch and cook?
It's coming!!
HAY ROD PAULIE AGAIN HERE IN ARIZONA... MAN, I TELL-YA THAT'S PRETTY COOL TOO BAD YOU LOST IT... IS THERE A LIMIT? I SAW THEY ONLY KEPT ONE. LOADS OF FUN ANYWAY, RIGHT??? STAY COOL AN KEEP PUSHIN ON MY MAN... PEACE...
Thank you Paul! There are indeed daily limits on how many chinook salmon you can keep, and the regulations change from year to year based on the status of the run.
Hey rod do you end up throwing a spoon at the Fraser today?
No. Did you?
@@FishingwithRod made a couple cast but only saw a couple chum out there. No fish but headed to the vedder this Saturday for some chum fishing. Maybe catch a late season coho
First Hookset was amazing!!! Beautiful beautiful nice video rod & all
Thanks Felipe! I think Jason has done that hookset a few times before lol. ;)
😴🌈🐵👍🏿🤡
What a lame guide, setting the hook for it's customers, lame 😂
What a lame comment, made without watching the entire video.
