  • Here we look at the Condor MA40-001 Nalgene bottle pouch. Cheaper than it's Maxpedition rival, this is a sturdy alternative. As well as housing your bottle and cup, you can carry a decent amount of kit in the exterior pouch. This is where I carry an Esbit pocket stove, lighter, fire steel, AA flashlight and water purification tablets. With this arrangement, you have a great setup for clean water and basic cooking.

Wow! 8 years later and I JUST bought one of these. Running a Hydrology H2 32oz insulated bottle with mine for hydration. Carrying a boo boo kit in the pouch. This thing is so versatile (as you show here)!

Great video! Thanks so much for taking the time. I'm a bag nerd like most if us survival types are and am looking for a bag for my guyot 38" and nesting cup and yours is the second video that makes me think this one is the way to go! You could also stuff survival stuff in the bottle if you don't use it that much!
Again. Thanks for taking the time. I really appreciate it!

Right on. I LOVE Condor stuff. I happened upon it when buying mag pouches for airsoft and now its the brand I look for whenever I need carry gear. The quality of their gear seems at odds with their prices, which are excellent. FYI - You cannot buy directly from the Condor Outdoor site.

I sell those, I'm an authorized dealer. I hear people say that they don't like condor if its because its cheap or if its made in China. What critics neglect to see is that Condor Outdoor has came a long way and the quality is very good and not only that, they are making more and more here in the USA.

i personally own the Maxpedition ver. but this condor looks nice.

Great video! I too was looking at a durable water bottle holder, but decided on purchasing two of the Orca Tactical H20 Water Bottle containers due to they are a bit larger, have THREE pouches (one large one in front similar to the Maxpedition/Condor) plus one a nice sized one on top of the main container and one on the bottom PLUS a nice sturdy carrying strap!!! My intentions were to use it as a light day/scout pack soo I also purchased 2 pair of Mofull double pack tactical mollie pouches to give me even more room. Since Orca is a well known product from the great NorthWest, I decided to go with these units and couldn't be happier and even saved a buck or two even with the extra pockets and included straps! No! I don't work for Orca! ;>) Safe hiking/backpackin/camping to all!

If you put your cup and h2o bottle in a small nylon bag ( stuff sac ) it will slide in and out of the pouch much easier and not snag on the inner lining of the bag. Nice review, Thanks for sharing. Enjoy & be safe.

Great review. Thanks. You can get them at LA police gear online for $14. I just ordered 2. I was debating whether to order them because I didn't know if they were large enough for my need but after watching your review I could see they were perfect. Thanks again. You saved me a headache

Nice review. I have found that if you put the cup and bottle in a nylon stuff sack it will slide in and out of the pouch with ease.

I use the British army Crusader cook kit. It contains in nesting fashion a stove at bottom for wood or any fuel, canteen cup, canteen. I bought a stainless lid to replace the plastic one --water boils twice as fast now. Small pockets inside the case accomodate the lid, my firesteel and lighter, spork. Like this one it did not come with a strap but can be attached. It is ultra sturdy, will last forever. For a pouch for backpacking etc I am very happy with twin Ribz pack worn at the chest. Can wear a backpack over it but usually I don't have to.

I just received mine two days ago. Looking for a water pouch for my 34oz stainless steel water bottle that I got off ebay for $10 and was striking out on a pouch large enough for it. This pouch has more room in the main compartment than appears. I have 34oz water bottle, plus my Mora 11827 Kniv, small camp spatula and spork with room to even add a water filter straw. Still carry my old Army canteen, canteen cup and canteen stove in a Molle pouch made for that style also.

I was thinking you could use some paracord for your strap your thinking of making. It could be braded or twisted to add strength and extra length. Paracor is always really good to have or any rope for that matter.

There is another version of this type pocket for the water bottle. The maxpedition is almost twice the cost, but I think it has better zippers.

This is the system I am looking to use. However I am wondering about putting a tube on the nalgene, if there is a top that you can buy for that, because getting that up to your mouth for drinking could be a pain.

I would put your fire making devices in a water proof bag of sorts. Them rods seem to get eaten up by rain water. Just a thought...
