Very nice. My BMW has this and it is raining oil. A good way to keep a gasket in place is a bit of high-tack gasket stick holds in place nicely. And don't forget to disconnect battery before fiddling with the alternator. Brill video however.
Dont know if anyone gives a damn but if you guys are bored like me atm then you can watch pretty much all of the new movies on InstaFlixxer. I've been binge watching with my brother during the lockdown xD
Did you have a small gap between the oil filter housing and the engine block? At the point where that valve with the O-Rings is? I seem to have this gap
@@itsaboutcarsyt Can you please give me the diameter of the o rings ? you would help me a lot. As for why I want to use generic o rings that i can get from any shop, you see the problem is i live far away and already ordered online the valve cover, oil pan, and oil filter housing gaskets along with other parts, I can’t just order a set of o rings by itself that weighs nothing and pay the minimum shipping rate for it .
Hey man, awesome video but I have a question. My oil filter is metal also on top like the m3s and the valve (little round rubber) is metal on mine. Do I remove the metal one and replace it with the rubber, or leave it in?

@Jalen Tristen Yea, have been watching on InstaFlixxer for since november myself :D
I have the same leak i changed the gasket but didn't change that spring valve plastic thing. Gonna do it soon, hope it will fix it.
Thank you for the great video. Helped me alot. I also have this problem with my m40b18 engine an could not figurea out where the leak was.

Having the same problem now on e46
Good information, almost nobody else has videos on the m43 engine .
Can I use generic rubber O-rings for the valve you talked about ?
Good question. Tbh I'd just get a set of gasket including the small valve. It's not really expensive :) there's sets on eBay for under 20 bucks

@@osamamaddani it's 24x3 mm and has the part number 11421709513. I think you'll need 2 or 4
Thanks a lot , you’ve been a great help 🙂
Nice video, I need to replace it as well. But do I need to empty the whole engine?
The filter does sit relatively low so the potential to have a lot of oil coming out of there is high, but I didn't empty it tbh
@@itsaboutcarsyt Allright thanks, well I did an oil change last week, then I noticed the leak.

Sorry never worked on cars featuring that... I guess you best look into forums for that car
@@itsaboutcarsyt thanks for the fast reply! I'll see what I can do
