Enjoy the clear definition and steps needed to accomplish your task Mr. Devil! I have the same bike but a 2015 and choose the LED lights front and rear using the Custom Dymamics Magic Strobe for the brake lights. Keep um coming!
I put these on my other bike "The Deuce" 2 yrs ago. Never had an issue with them. I put the longer black heat wrap and also used a hair dryer too haha. I also got the black Custom Dynamics led license plate frame that only lights up when you hit the brakes. I only did that because i got hit from behind yrs ago. StreetGlide is staying stock with lights and signals except smoked lenses haha. Streetglides already look ok with stock signals imo. Another good video man👊 Edit: still waiting to see the women on her own horse. Once she gets her own, she wont want to be on the back much haha. There's something sexy about Independence. You two can thank me later. Keep up the good vids👊😎👊
I bought a 99 super glide that had no turn signals on it, so I bought some from Amazon that were similar to these. The previous owner cut the connectors off. Couldn’t find a good wiring diagram on the interwebs. Luckily I found your video and was able to install these super quick. Thanks for posting this video a couple years back
I notice the kit came with PosiLock wire connectors. Posilock also makes bonehead simple taps too, would have eliminated needing to cut the plug off. Great work!
It looks nice .you can still get a longer black heat shrink and cut across the length then slide it over and shrink it ,I personally use wire loom on all my added light and such
8:35 .. Lmaooo!!! Almost spit water out my face with the Jedi Mind trick, Star Wars "These Aren't the Wires You're Looking For" script. Priceless. :) Thanks for this, btw. ~I'm about to embark on swapping bars on a 95 Dyna LR ... Every scrap of 'Oh yes, Don't forget this' helps a lot. Cheers man.
Nice and well explained. Pretty sure all you have to do is just remove the fuse to protect the short if that's why you disconnected the negative on the battery. Definitely gonna get these!
Great video man.. I'm looking for turn signals that are low profile for a sportster chopper I'm building.. These just might be what ive been looking for.. Thanks for the video
Thanks! Yeah for the low profile stealth look these definitely fit the bill. That's part of the reason I didn't get the white lit ones with amber turns, so they would be a little more hidden when the turn signals werent on. They'd be great on a chopper that needed signals.
@@LifeontheBlacktop yeah I'd get the amber only version as well.. my bikes setup so the blinkers are only on when the turn signals switch is activated, they don't stay on as running lights..
Curious why you didn't chase your origional turn signals and plug them in there. Also, those blue things in your bag were resistors so your ECM dosn't thro low voltage codes.
Good job ,just a question I have a Roadster 2017 I bought a led mirror turn signal but also I want led mirror as a running light .it has wires do you know at all where to connect it or how so I can have a constant light Thank you
Unfortunately I'm not familiar with that one. You might be able to find a wiring diagram somewhere and then find one of the existing running lights and tap into that wire.
Yeah you could probably do that, you'd just need the correct wires. You might also need a load leveler for that year so they don't blink super fast since they are LED.
FYI, there is a plastic cover on the bottom of the top frame where the down tubes start, there is a tab on each side that you can push in and it drops that cover. Gives you full access to all plugs and wires in there.
@@LifeontheBlacktop It's definitely easier than messing with the grommets. I take both bolts out of the tank and move it back as well, it will give you even more room to work.
@@LifeontheBlacktop I have the exact same bike (it's a '13 fxdb), denim black as well, I just put 16 inch apes on it. Had to change all cables and extend the wiring. It's a chore for sure but damn do these bikes look good with apes.
I got a 11 street bob a few months back and previous owner had the bullets fork mounted. How hard would it be to get them back on to the handle bars? Would I just have to open the hand controls and re wire up on bars? Thanks
Do they sell adapter plugs that will connect directly to the oem harness, so you only have to splice together plug and turn signals light wires, then plug directly into the Harley unused plug?
I had a 1 tail light for everything and trying to delete it and run rear turn signals and only running/brake light for the license plate, do you have an idea how to wire this? TIA
I would look into Ciro3Ds offerings for that. They have really easy wiring "Y's" that are just plug and play, depending what bike you have. Here is a link to their Harley stuff shrsl.com/4fy44 On our bagger we have a ton of their products and have been happy with them all. Hope that helps!
At the end of the video I run through a kind of "reset" to program the new ones. You might try that. If not, depending on the year of the bike, you may need a load equalizer. Back in the day on my 05 meanstreak I put LED bulbs on it and they worked but would blink super fast. I had to add a load equalizer to the blinkers to slow them down.
Second time watching your video. It seems to have the most info of the ones I've watched. You were lucky enough to just reroute some existing lines. Unfortunately, the previous owner removed my turn signals completely and I can't find the relay unless it's under the tank. Is there any harm in wiring them into the back turn signals? I was able to locate those wires.
I’m not sure where the relay is but were you able to locate the plugs tucked all the way back into the neck like I show in the video? It’s really the best option since these have a BCM and are somewhat sensitive to wiring. It might be beneficial to grab an electrical service manual since you don’t have ANY turn signals and maybe you can somewhat get it back to stock wiring.
@@LifeontheBlacktop I was trying not to lift the tank but looks like that is the next step. I think all the wiring was removed when they custom painted the bike. Probably have to wire it all back in from the Main Harness back towards the neck.
@@traciort233 ah. Yeah in that case you may have to. :-/ Not sure if you’ve ever removed a tank (I have only on my Electra glide) but it’s not as bad as one would think.
I have the same bike. Bought the same lights. Made the same mistake. If you have to remove your forks, the lights have to be removed. I’ve gone a different direction with turn signals but if I did them again, I’d put them under the bottom triple.
@@LifeontheBlacktop its a 1993 Sportster 1200, wires are hooked up correctly. When I try blinkers the light for either side just get brighter. I'm confused, thank you for your help.
You most likely will need a load equalizer for that bike. The LEDs don't have enough resistance themselves and it messes with the signal. I made my own once from some diagrams I found on the net and some parts from radio shack because they can get a little pricey if you just buy them. Good luck!
Lol. What if you didn't wrap the lights and just 3Med them on vertically (facing forward)? I think it would look horrible but that's another way you can do the opposite thing that everyone else is doing. :-) "I am how I am." #ridesafe
