Gotta love a sport wagon with all its style. We got ourselves a Volvo V50; the family needed a new car and if you know me, I love a used car with all its savings, but you also gotta have some style. So take a look at our new to us used sport wagon with all its style; one fantastic Volvo V50!

6:00 ohhh I can see your perspective on that as a family car but for a car person, the C1 chassis (Ford Focus and Mazda 3 chassis) is one that some people would argue is the greatest handling of all time
The longer we’ve owned it; I’ve just grown more and more fond of the handling and sporty feel.
I bought my first car one month ago and it’s an amazing little Volvo V50 manual and I LOVE IT !!
Manual?! You live in Europe, lol. Fine first car! Good choice and thanks for watching. I continue to flatter the Europeans and their aesthetic.
@@FashionableFather Well you are right haha
And here none of my friend can understand why I bought such a “big” car like that haha 😅
@@Chdo971 Hahaha?! Big huh? It’s a small car here.
Just got mine. Did the break pads and discs in my garage. Very happy so far though it doesn't exactly sip fuel to be honest
@@FashionableFather its a small car in europe too lol, the v70 is more a bigger car obv ( ithink he means larger as in what the kids usually buy as a first car over here being small city cars) , i have a 2007 v50 with a little 1.6 diesel engine, 172K on the clock and still feels tight and fresh as ever and as for the focus underpinnings its a real positive as the mk2 focus which its based on ( incidentally the US never got the MK2 focus, what is a focus mk2 in america is the mk3 everywhere else) is a fantastic handing car. :)
Found a nice v50 t5 r design equipped with a 6MT and AWD
Whaaaat?! You’re in Europe, yes?
@@FashionableFather no the US
Wow! Those are rare I imagine.
It looks lovely, and loving how well put together the video turned out and how active the whole family has been joining you.
Thank you! It was fun to make. Always awesome to see your comments!
Bluetooth is a easy fix, you can get a bluetooth module in-between the radio connection. Then it will play on the aux function.
Thank and was thinking about that. But I think the car has Bluetooth but it’s not working. I may take it to a good Volvo guy and see. Also your solution will be bt audio but not for phone calls right?
Nice V50👌
The Bluetooth connecting mobile with car but its only for calls.
If you have USB-input, you can play mp3 and wma from usb memory device. The CD player also reads CDs with mp3 and wma files.
There is posibility to streaming music by aux-input, by 3mm jack Bluetooth radio.
Cheers🍻
Thanks, I'm loving this car! The usb is only for power/charging. I'm using the aux input for music. might plug in a third party bluetooth adapter in the future.
WHAT THE HECK You guys are amazing actors!!
Your too kind!! Thank you. We hams at heart.
Tomorrow, I'm gonna get one V50 1.6D, exactly with the same color and exterior and interior finish! Except mine will be with a tan and white leather interior. Sunroof, etc. Can't wait to get my hands on it... Oh! And thankfully with a manual gearbox. ;-)
I’m excited for you. You’re in Europe?
Great choice V50 with a volvo engine. I have 2 V50's. A 2.4 140hp petrol and a 2.4i 170hp petrol. First one I bought for myself but my wife loved it too much. So wel..then I have to buy one for myself.
Yeah I love the v50. It’s size and styling are perfect in my opinion.
I have a V50, R-design. It's my husbands old car. I love her, yes her. She is up to 230.000 km but still going strong. Safe, confortable and still good looking, even while she is getting on a bit. Has never let me down and the kids don't get car sick in her. Very important!
That is ALOT of miles. Very cool!
Volvo's tend to run to 400k if treated properly, I buy mines at 230k and drive them till 350-400k haha
@@FashionableFather230 km isn’t that high “miles”
HI! So how do you feel about the V50 after two years? any major issues? I'm looking at one currently. THanks!
Still love the style. Ours was run hard. So don’t love some of the small issues. The filter for the ac is a ridiculous repair but all in all great car.
@@FashionableFatherDo you mean cabin filter for a/c in your V50?
Sensible and stylish decision. Looks great in white. Now if I could only find one - with a sunroof...
Sunroof! For the wife super necessary. Thanks for watching.
I feel like sunroofs are an unnecessary thing that can break. If it leaks, it can be expensive to fix
I’ve also a 2008 V50 1.8 , it drives so fine, I’m the 3rd owner, and not a fast driver, but the engine uses some oil, so I check it regularly.
Simply fantastic design. You reminded me to check my oil.
@@FashionableFather very good!! take good care of your nice white V50. (And yes, it has a good design)😉
@@samdevries6280thank you. I shall take care of her.
@@FashionableFather Very good👍🏻 It’s always good to check regularly😉
I have a 2011 R-design, white, two-toned seats, will keep forever. My only regret that in my climate, AWD would have been useful but bought used. Otherwise, it's an everyday dream.
Great car and cool video! I have a diesel V50 here in Ireland. Love them!
Thanks for watching and enjoying. Love Volvos.
We have the same in black, a very good car. First i look for BMW 320i, we drive a 525i, but than we find the volvo with automatic.
Love the euro sports wagon style. We both have great taste, haha.
I own a 2009 Volvo V 50, I think these are about perfect.
We love ours; though it’s been run hard
I have a V50 1.6 D Drive Lux Cheap to tax £20 loving this car very pretty . The badge means Iron pub quiz fact
Its the symbol for iron? Great lil trivia. Thanks for watching. Love that damn Volvo.
@@FashionableFather Yes then are great cars
And a enjoyable video fro you too
Almost 2 years later,do u still have the V50? Has it been reliable with however many miles you put on it?
It had around 80,000 miles on it and my wife put 10,000 on it in LA traffic. The car wasn't in the greatest condition to be honest; minor stuff. So I'd say its a great car for how hard its been run. The ac seems to have a slow leak which I haven't figured out yet. A front strut seems need replacing. I love the car; wish I hadn't bought from a dealership.
how has it been since honestly? I'm thinking about getting my dad-alorian one this week!
I love that damn car, but ours was run HAAARD. It was dealership car through and through. It had electrical issues. The front is knocking now. The sunroof leaked, but that was an easy fix actually. The headliner on the sunroof just recently came off. It is a used car so I don't feel these are big issues. No transmission issues or engine. The brakes are a lil soft too. If you're looking at clean one I think it will be a great car. My issues I feel are just a well worn car.
OMG what great vid!!! ha ha ha Love this!!! yeah from mtw and 99 in L.A. Volvo 240 owners ....so so happy with it. needs work again. hmmmm. But love the channel!
Thank you!! You have a 240?! Love Volvos.
We have a Volvo V60 and love it.
Yeah I’m truly enjoying this car. Thanks for watching!
Volvo are also great for safety and built like tanks. (I don't if the American ones are just as safe as the European ones.) If you want to add bluetooth you can add Sony, Kenwood, Pioneer, JVC head unit/ stereo system. Volvo are generally great cars however I saw you as more of a Saab man.
Oh absolutely, love me a Saab, but was always weary about their reliability. Getting parts here was always an expensive process. Yeah I think the Bluetooth thing will be an easy fix. Thanks for watching. Also gonna do a live stream mid October; should be better than the last one.
My 2009 Volvo V50 2.4i has 5cyl. Swedish motor and Japanese 5 speed Automatic transmission. Only 60 000 highway miles on it when bought in 2011. Not high maintenance if you replace parts with OEM . Do not use aftermarket parts!
Ours is a lil hard run. I’ve got a headliner problem and some electrical issues. But still love the damn thing
Love the vid!
My fav ride ever was a 1997? 850t wagon.
Until the turbo died…
My current 2014 bmw 328 wagon is pretty sweet too. I got Bluetooth! Overrated tho cuz it plays the same playlist every time I get in the car. Unprompted. Ugh
Yoooo! Thanks! 850 WAGON!! With a turbo?! Was it yellow with black rims. 850 wagons are pretty much the best wagon made.
Unprompted music; hahahaha! Delete itunes had to do the same. You know I had an eye for that bmw. Thanks for watching my brother!!
@@FashionableFather
No not yellow?!?
Forest green, tan leather, silver rims
@@voidnot Yeah that was a fine vehicle! Don't you remember that iconic yellow one in the 90s?
@@FashionableFather oooh I think soooo
pretty cool car
Thank you. I love it!

Fabulous cars.
Agree
it must be fashionable.... I have one (2008)
@@secretspyfrog593 great minds…
I used to sell used cars. The Mazda5 were not the best. Terrible road noise. Good job on the Volvo. The inline engines typically performed better than the V-type.
Yo! thanks for the validation. Yeah I like the mini-mini van concept but when I drove a couple I was just enough disappointed that it felt wrong. Funny you said road noise too, that was what I really wanted to avoid.
Agree
Great video.
Thanks Cody! Keeping grinding you hustler! I want to see more vids from you.
Volvo guy🙌🙌🙌🙌🎉🎉🎉🎉
Great Car🚘 🙂🙂🙂
Thank you! I’m wagon obsessed.
@@FashionableFatherI also love wagons especially volvos. can you pl tell me,,,,,,,,v50 vs v70 vs xc70 which one you will prefer and why🙂🙂🙂
Is it petrol Or diesel. Automatic or manual. Which model/year.anyhow good review with fantastic station wagon. I love it and planning to buy one of them.
I don’t think we can get a diesel here in the states or even a manual. Thus; yeah it’s petrol and auto.
@@FashionableFather Thanks for ur swift reply dude 🙏
No manual transmission or diesel in U.S. available.
Perhaps not as reliable as Volvos of old, basically being a Ford Focus with Peugeot/Mazda engines, but there are very few small wagons (or estates as we call them in the UK) that are as comfortable and stylish, especially that are now at least 11 years old. I've had two now. It sucks that everyone buys SUVs now which are just less practical and worse in every way than a decent sedan or wagon. My latest DRIVe D2 does 70mpg on the highway and 56 average and pays zero duty in the UK, and it does have Bluetooth. I think it was an option only though.
You and! Same page! Love the style of these lil wagons. SUVs are so damn boring.
dude, my name is artur and i have a volvo v50. youtube just brought this video up for me to watch, thx youtube algorithm
That is awesome. Artur is a good name, v50 is a good car! Thanks for watching.
The V50 shared platforms with the "European" Focus, not the same vehicle as the Focus models sold in USA. In fact, the Euro Focus used the Volvo engine/drivetrain. Ford benefited immensely from their marketing agreement with Volvo, adopting the much-needed safety features Volvo is known for. Since that "partnership", to this day, Ford's many products are full of Volvo DNA (as opposed to the other way round). Contrary to most belief, Ford did not "own" Volvo. Volvo AB, the builder of heavy equipment, trucks and marine equipment, was not any part of Ford.
This is awesome to know. I was always annoyed that volvo partnered with ford, this sheds a much more positive light.
This car totally fits the Sands family vibe! I gotta admit I'm a little salty about the van comment.🤣 #minivanmafia
Minivanmafia?! I better watch my step, lol. You know you want a wagon now.
I don't want my car to smell like cheerios and tears🤣 I need to know what does the Volvo smell like?
Both Meghan and I laughed out loud to this….I’m gonna let her take this.
W Father for not getting an SUV
You will die some Day in a Car Accident, if you do not use your Safety Belt! It was however invented by Volvo.
I used to love Volvos. Then they traded the utilitarian look for the faux luxurious one. Then the Chinese bought Volvo.
I would agree. They got boring.
Be responsable and WEAR YOUR SEAT BELT ALL THE TIME PLEASE !!!!!
