Amazing composition!!!
That rock is priceless!!!
What many people don't get about bonsai is the deep attachment we bonsai enthusiasts have about our trees, our pots and things like this volcanic rock. If anyone was to get this precious family heirloom, I am glad that it was Peter Chan. He will treasure it, he will nurture it, and he will teach with it. Blessings to all from Kokomo, Indiana.
Wow That is a special piece. I feel privileged to be able to see this and hear the wonderful story behind it. What an amazing piece ...Thank you 🙏🙏🙏
Two of my favorite things, bonsai and rocks. I absolutely love this planting Peter!!
My love for suiseki ( appreciation for rocks) is exploding thanks for Inspiration always Mr. Chan.
I saw this rock on the nursery when I came last month, I wondered what you would do with it. Now I know! The larches compliment this marvellous rock which can only get better as time goes on. Love it. Great job Peter. Thanks for showing it
Hello Peter, what a lovely story and so you glad you're not planning to sell it. This really caught my eye when we visited 10 days ago and I'm so pleased to see how you created this.
Oh Peter I can feel your excitement apart from seeing you create a rock planting using Larch trees which look really natural, they will over time become one with the rock and will just need a bit of care over time. The rock itself is very special piece of artwork on its own without any plantings, but with the larch trees planted it achieves another level of living art which can be admired in a special place on the nursery for people to see. Larch are my favourite trees especially in spring when the buds have burst to produce very light green delicate looking whirls of foliage on an old gnarled looking tree.
Larches do well in the Northern hemisphere - when I first started my nursery - all I ever sold were Larches !
@@BigChief1529 I know Peter better than most people we go back a long way, so if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing. I know he knows a lot more than me, I am not telling him how to do his job I am commenting in support of him.
@@joegarland4885I apologize
Yeah! A rock vid. I love rock mounts. Just the thing for a sleepless night in Indiana. Thanks.
Such a beautiful creation!!!
Very beautiful, Mr Chan, an amazing display!!! I can see why the original owner was reluctant to give away his rock. Please show us updates on this one, it has now become my favorite!
✝️🇺🇸🙏
This will be a great addition to your collection with history 😊
Excellent little forest that you have made on this rock.
Well, Mr. Chan, you’ve done it again. A masterful root over/in rock design & composition. Agree - choosing Larch v Juniper was a stroke of genius. I also agree putting tiny low growing plants here-n-there will top off this Peter Chan masterpiece.
Awesome creativity. 👌😊👍
Wonderfully unique and interesting. So creative, Peter.
This would be a cool water feature if you pumped water out of the top to flow down the front.
Great idea
Oooo @ 10:30 what a beauty with that natural jin!
Amazing rock making forest plantings have become my favorite bonsai cheers 😮
Thanks Peter. Super composition.
That is a lovely combination! Love it❤🥰🌳
Beautiful composition, you framed the little house in the sense of droning the eyes to it. Amazing, looking forward to your next creations.
Kudos to your staff, and big thumbs up to the editing gal. Stay well be safe, my friend.
Awesome! Planning on a cliff execution of lava rock this summer for a dwarf juniper plan I’ve got, larches looks really nice gives it a good height
I carve marble for fun occasionally and I do bonsai trees now. Thank you for the project idea.
This done in marble would be aesthetically pleasing, but man i feel bad for anyone needing to move it.
Master at Work!! 🪨🌲🌲🌲
❤excellent job ❤
Beautiful!!
A maestro! 🌴
Such a cool rock😮
Looks like pumice rock. I have one and put in a forest last spring. They sell them here and they do make flower pots out of them. Hard to get them here, but, they do sell them in bulk. Sharp though. Wear gloves. Don't sell it. A great piece of stone. Mine I have one tree still living in it after whatever came into the yard and ripped the rest out of it. Tree left, willow, is strongly rooted inside the rock. Yours looks excellent. Wear safety glasses drilling. Pieces fly off like small bits of glass. I have seen some nice anthuriums grown in this stone that were made into odd shaped pots. Watching how you make your forest in it. Save that rock. Don't sell it.
la piedra es preciosa, aunque mi opcion de colocacion de plantas es diferente, tampoco veo mala ubicacion, saludos
Anyone else see two hands in that rock?🫶
Good afternoon I got up late today 😌😊😊
🥰🥰
👍👌👌🙂
Hello
😮😮
Id put more treen on that rock 😊, but it's just me 😅. Thx for sharing Peter, awesome.
Can someone airlayer a larch? I have some that I gathered in the early spring and they are about 6 foot tall. I would love to double and triple my collection if it is possible but don’t want to waste time if you think it would be.
Yes they do but not easily.
