Good Morning Fellow BBI FANS & FRIENDS: MR. LUKE I believe you have opened up a new world to those searching for a switching power supply alternative that delivers heavier current output with just a little love & affection. Thank you for another informative video, God Bless, TMP, Unit 22, from N.J.😊😊😊
These have been used in the RC world for a while. Big Lipo chargers like the iCharger 30 series and 40 series chargers need a big 24V power supply to operate at their maximum ratings so series connection two HP DPS's was found to be less than half the price of the power supplies the RC websites were selling (and they weren't putting out enough power to max out the biggest iChargers and other 30/40A Lipo chargers)
I ordered a bunch of these puppies! So freaking happy to be able to build affordable supplies for my guys!! People are getting tired of me telling them $600 for a 200amp power supply, Now I can make the box HALF of the size and charge them HALF as much!!
@@joshchilders-fy1pk wtf are you babbling on about? Because I don’t post videos of my builds and jobs means I don’t know nothing about supplies? Wtf lol
Normally one has to be floating by shielding all of the low side circuitry from earth. Not sure if you can do it with these. Perhaps, if you don't use the load sharing pin and you remove any low side connections to the earth cable / casing on one PSU. Let me know if it works and we can go for 50V for LDMOS Would be a cheap unit but you might want 8 of them to run any bigger ldmos amps. if you could put 4 in series will we still be limited to around 1200W but at 48V or a bit higher or will we get 4800W @50V? Some LDMOS are already 1200W so you would want at least 1500W capability I would say. I have a load of old military spec supplies somewhere. Think they might run LDMOS. Anyway I just picked up two of these. What a great deal for 2400W of power.

Hello sir , great info , I build 18650 charging boards and I’ve been trying to find a mod just like this … for ever 4 packs of 4 batteries I need to add a PS thank you 🙏 sir
What an Great person doing a great work. I actually Bought 3 of these same models for an mod which only some chosen ones decided to do. I want to apply 240 Volt Dc from solar and use this to charge my 12v battery bank. Unfortunately this does not turn on 240 to 200 volt DC and It turned on instantly with 240volt Ac. I tried so much to mod it and read online articles so much but this model is not turning on high dc voltage. My other smaller switching power supplies of 5amps have no problem running on 240 to 200 volt dc but this model i want to run is not turning on. Please help me if you can in any way it will be much appreciated. I want to use this as an mppt from solar.
Great video I have gotten other models before i seen your video they seem ok. I have not done any voltage increase mods yet just getting started. There fb 1A pd-19 same turn on way .I also got a Samsung power supply for 9.00 tried it same way just about to turn it on pin 1and5 have not seen any mods for them yet. We shall see it's on back burner I'm a hobbyist not nearly in you're field I am only as smart as you tube lol. I have been in dc fork lift repair before i retired have some experience. So in closing thanks for you're video's.
15:50 Since this PSU is made for an HP Server, this second tab feature's main purpose is power redundancy. In the event one PSU fails, another will take over. It's hot-swappable meaning you can remove one PSU without powering down the load unit and replace it with a new one. NOTE: This feature only works on the same PSU model; it does not mix with other PSU models.
Quick question Master, are you aware of changes depending on the revision? I just got 2 and they are REV16F so wondering if they will work the same. Thanks in advance.
Thank you 👍. I'm going to try one with my TS 480 HX Kenwood HF transceiver. Just about all of the switching power supply's I have tried are noisy on 40 and 80 meters, kinda annoying. This is a whole lot more cost effective than a 70 amp astron transformer power supply. Not to mention weight. Thanks and 73 GOD bless Earnest K5EWM 👍.
Hey Mr BBI. Have you thought about drilling holes through the board where the positive and negative strips are. That would allow for 100% wire attachment for those that don’t have big high watt soldering irons. I’ve modified a couple different power supplies over the years. This by far seems to be the easiest. I ordered to and should be here this weekend. Thanks for the info. I love watching your videos
I've seen a couple people mount lugs of different kinds by drilling through the strips. I'm hesitant to try it but with the PSU's being so cheap I might give it a shot. Would make my 4mm binding post/banana jacks much more secure because currently I'm soldering them which is secure but takes a lot of solder and isn't the cleanest looking. Just gotta make sure you use high quality solder. I use MG Chemicals 63/37

Can’t you add a rheostat or variable potentiometer where you place the resistor for increased voltage allowing for variable voltage adjustment?
You would have to add one for the crowbar circuit also then, and have predetermined marked values on each and set them both before turning on the unit
Probably better to use 2 variable position switches with resistors wired in, for each voltage value desired
