Can we merge two sets of scans into a one scan and then refine them as one scan

You can reference two datasets in the control file as VAL[1]=scan1.xy and VAL[2]=scan2.xy. Don't merge two scans prior to the refinement. That will screw up the calculation of ESDs and refinement statistics.
