- Homemade Ginger Ale is an excellent craft soda to make from beginners to novice. This Ginger Ale recipe is only Ginger Ale recipe you will ever need. It's easy to make and Ginger has so many health benefits why not put it in a soda. Ginger has even been known to kill cancer cells. This Ginger Ale recipe has hints of vanilla and lemon and will satisfy all your soda cravings. And you control the Sugar you put in it too. Make sure you are watching all my soda videos listed below.
The best part about this soda in my opinion is it carbonates itself with the yeast you add, creating carbonation so no mess with soda carbonation systems either.

Okay, I didn't exactly follow your recipe, but it didn't turn out bad! And better than Canada dry, imo. Anyway, I used powdered ginger spice because that's what I had on hand. So I put in about 1.5 tbsp of ginger, 2 cups of water, half cup of splenda, and 1 tsp of vanilla (I forgot to put in the vanilla at first, so I can say that, yes, it does make a difference!) . Oh, and I used Soda Stream water, not yeast carbonation.
For a first go, this is better than I thought it would turn out. And while I didn't use your recipe, you did inspire me to try, so... thanks for the video and recipe!
That's what is All about just having fun and experimenting. Thanks for sharing. Got another soda recipe coming soon one of my favorite. 👍👍😁😁
Hello, again. I appreciate you pinning my comment, but after having tried this with fresh ginger root... Wow, what a difference! And that's what I'm going to use from now on, too. Sure, the powdered spice will add more kick than Canada Dry, but fresh root cannot be beat for flavor!
Thanks again!
Awesome... I just recorded a new soda video and is my absolute favorite. Should be out this weekend. You got to try it. Thanks for watching the channel. 👍👍
I miss Chef Alton Brown. I think I found his brother. Your explanation, enthusiasm and personality are the perfect trifeca. Great video.

@ your very welcome. Keep up being you. Look forward to going through the back catalog of videos and future ones to come.
The addition of vanilla and salt really stepped the flavor up another level!

Just discovered your Ginger Ale channel and love you’re enthusiasm! I love GA and having trouble finding sugar free…..I’m not going to use yeast, I’ll use sparkling water or club soda for the fizz ……I’m also using swerve for sweetener……but it’s the first time so I’ll see how it goes……..may take a few trial & errors…..thanks for the video…..!
Thanks for finding us... you should give yeast a try... got a root beer coming up soon. 👍👍
I was gonna try this, but when you said it recarbonates itself it blew my mind.
You must try it.👍👍

@@HowToDoneRight awesome. I will do just that. Thanks much!!!
Thank you for sharing
My pleasure
I will try tomorrow your recipe. Hope taste like the old ginger ale Canada dry ,
Canada Dry has the recipe now in the hands of Doctor Pepper, when they purchased Chelmsford Golden Ginger Ale. Which was said to be the greatest ginger ale you could ever taste. They discontinued Chelmsford Ginger Ale in 2003 but they won't sell or give back the recipe back to the local town of Chelmsford Massachusetts. Chelmsford Ale was at one point as big as Coca Cola until 1960. A local company tried to replicate the flavor and sell it at a local grocery store, but it's not close to the original they say.
That is great information. Thanks for sharing. 👍👍
Going to try this after I finish my white grape juice musto.
Keep me posted. 👍👍
Wonderful. 😅
Plss what yeast should i use as would love to try it. Got backing yeast at home..
Any yeast will work but don't use bread yeast.
Hello again, I was wondering if I could ask your opinion on lemon wine. I really want my next batch to be lemon. I'm making 1 gallon batches right now until I get more experience. The only video I see for a one gallon batch he uses 8 lemons. I know your rule is 4 lbs of fruit for all fruit wines. I'm just curious if you would use 4 lbs of lemons to make it...if you were to make it. I really like your recipes, so I wanted to get your opinion on this. Thank you in advance
Chris that has been on my list for a video. Haven't gotten to do it yet. It's a fantastic wine... I would use 3 pounds of peeled lemons or 4 pounds before peeled.. but most definitely 3 to 4 pounds of fruit Is perfect. Thanks for watching the channel... wait until you see the next wine I'm making fermenting now...👍👍👍🍋🍋🍋🍋
@@HowToDoneRight awesome, thanks so much for your quick response. Hope to see your lemon recipe soon... So I can see what I need to change on my second batch 😃
Keep me posted let me know if you Like it.
I like to use a potato peeler instead of a grater, much easier and end result is the same. To take it to the next level, add a few cloves and some chili flakes into your syrup. They add flavor and are removed when you strain the syrup.
Great tips... love the additives may try that one.👍👍
Does this recipe make 2 liters or 4 liters?
Those are 2 liter bottles.
where do you ferment and what temp?
Ferment at room temperature.
just out of curiosity, has anyone ever tried this with a pressure cooker to seal in the flavors?
Never tried that.
You can make anything taste good with that much sugar.
So put no sugar in it. You control it.
Might give it a shot, I will be harvesting my ginger in a month or so. Soooo have you had any mishaps 🤪🤪?
Oh yeah Try it out. Have not blown any bottles yet.. lol... I love this natural carbonation process.. can you tell... lol😁😁
ginger 🥵🤤
This guy is crazy 😂 🤣
