After a long time of wondering and questions on RUclips, we were finally able to check the fitment of the 2024 Wrangler Grille on the original JL. The fit and finish is perfect and it required no modifications to install!

I have a 2023 Willys, sorta like the one you show on the video with the black satin grill. I’m not seeing that option for the 2024 grill. Can you help?

I have to agree. The 2024 grille is also cool. A different take. Just not my preference. The older grille makes the jeep wrangler look more solid and tactical. The older grille design still has some room for improvements but it works well even with the high altitude models.
I guess Jeep now has to make 2 different factory grille designs as an option.

Matt, you and Distinction Applied just made my weekend! I was thinking I’d have to find a ‘23 JL before the end of the year, because I really don’t like that grill, but if the new one will fit on the old one, then the old one will fit on the new one!!! I’m STOKED, because I’m loving the larger dash display on the ‘24. I’m feeling like I may be able to have my cake and eat it too. So cool that DA allowed you to show us this. Let us know ASAP, if DA will have the customizable interior trim pieces as well, will ya?

That was definitely one of my questions, thanks for answering it!!! I love my 2021 JLU Willys, which I have already modified, so I don't want to start another complete build with a new 2024. I do like the look of the new grill; definitely form over function.

I like the new grille in black, I do agree it looks classier, but when it has the body color surround and blacked out center is when I start preferring the old style grille. That's awesome that they're compatible though

It's so weird because side by side the 24 grille looks so much smaller than the 23--nice!
It does look smaller. It’s kind of an optical illusion, especially because you’re looking at the lower part (that’s basically filler) of the ‘24 grill

I purposely didn't scroll down to avoid reading any comments that would give away if it would fit. I did have a little doubt, but thinking that they really didn't change the design of the body made me think that it should work just fine, but you never know what the engineers have tweaked that's not visible😂 I'm glad you were all over this because I do want to change my grille to the new one!!!👍

Hey Matt. I actually made a purchase from Brian. I did it over the phone with him, so I was not able to put the dirt road cred code under the comment section. I want to make sure I qualify for the contest as well. I did tell him I was referred over by you and your channel.

The '23 grille will fit on a '24 Rubicon X. It's super tight with the winch power cable which caused me to have to take off the cable, install the bottom portion of the grill, then fish the cable back in place. Also the biggest hiccup was the front camera mount. The spacing of the 2 holes for the plastic retainer for the camera are different due to the different size of the slots/openings between years. I used two slightly longer screws, with the same threads as stock, with standoffs between the retainer and grill. Drilled a couple new holes and the rest is just like any other grill R&R. If u have no camera it'll take 5 min. If u do it'll take 20. But it 100% fits behind the winch. Everything lines up perfectly. And distinction applied paintmatched perfectly.
I love the look and slim up the new look of my Gladiator. All black with the 7 slots in rubi red would really pop on my granite crystal rubicon.

I have ordered 2023 weathertech side window visors and 2023 rugged ridge door sill guards for my 2 dr 2024 jeep wrangler and they they fit perfectly. Most aftermarket shops still dont have 2024 parts. I will order side steps next. Hopefully the 2023 would fit on the 2024 Wrangler JL.
A lot should be the same, I'm sure come fall time we will start seeing a lot more 2024 parts before the holiday season!

I will say, hold off judgment till you see the new grill in person. I wasn’t a fan when I saw the photos but have seen a bunch of test mules and it’s not as bad as I thought.

The only issue i have with the 2024 grill are the fake vent areas near the headlights. Of the 2 I prefer the simpler, older grill. Jeeps are cool when they don’t have BS on them and are all business.

I’m wondering if you’d investigate whether or not the rear window wiper system plug set up in the trunk area of the 24 will work in the 23 and older wranglers. Jeep redesigned the panel and moved the location of the connectors as well as built in a storage area that hides the connector when you take the hard top off. Seems much better and if like the grills being interchangeable I wonder if the panels are as well. Sounds like a great video to make if they are interchangeable.

I like my 2023 grille better than the '24, but prefer the '24 inserts.
Wish you would have compared it with your Rubicon Grill which also 2 toned with those grayish inserts around the headlight and slots 😮

Does the new grille allow more clearance for the winch? In some cases the winch wires can be close to the grille and even touch. Also, the winch partially covers some of the slots.
For someone buying a new Jeep and wants to swap out the grille to the older version- I am sure it would be easy to find someone who would want to trade!

Yes it adds a lot, I just swapped it onto mine and pulling the old one off was a fight, this one slipped on no problem!
@@DIRTROADCREDwhen removing your old grille considering you have a winch, did you have to remove it or even loosen its mounting points to allow movement, when either removing it or putting on the new one? I know winches can also sit different according to the bumper and winch plate not sure what your set up is. But I have a Warn on the Warn plate on the OEM Steel Rubicon bumper and my cables sit flush on the grilles bottom. I'm hoping I don't have to fully remove it.
