The whole bit with the bilious soldier really shows that the Z-level LOS feature is an experimental one (as well as how creatures that shoot are way to capable of just shooting the torso.)
Don't forget Rycon, you can activate things like MOLLE vests, belts, packs, etc in order to hook other MOLLE stuff on them like holsters, sheaths, bags, ammo pouches and the like. Very handy for expanding storage and keeping things quickly on hand. I only mention it because that warehouse is filled to the brim with MOLLE gear.
Kind of curious to see something like this play out. Normally CDDA is all about a run of the mill person trying to survive but a soldier trying to find any form of command still left is a rather interesting idea.

The vanilla settings of cdda are more about a absolute super universal allrounder genie trying to be a god, in a world where everyone else is stupid enough to be overrun by slow and weak early game zombies.😂 To have a more believe able survival experience i just double the zombie stats and have 5 times more zombies, as well as fully advanced zombies right from the start. Now you have to actually survive and use that god like abilitys of your charackter to master everything in just a matter of weeks to months.😂
After that detailed intro I was waiting for her to fall down some stairs, break her neck, and the rest of the video was just you crying in the background.
You could spend a week in there just reading or longer. But when you come out the kevlar zombies will likely be hulks. There is a 50 cal machine gun in the base though.

This military base is just packed with loot to the brim. You probably can wait till the darkness and use your night vision to sneak past zombies into the armory. Find a .50 rifle, perch yourself on a tower and just pop them as they come. This place is definitely clearable. I did it using an AR15 and no fancy bionics. Though 4 kevlar hulks were no fun to deal with. Especially one in the underground level. Also you might want to scout out the minefields and lure some hard targets on the mines.
I kinda doubt that such a big and secure military base can be overrun by zombies, some random guy with an AR can take out without any problems. 😂 I only play with 5 times as many advanced zombies, with 200% higher stats, to let the entire apocalypse feel a littel more believeable, while having a more realistic survival feeling.😅
@@ottovonbismarck6600 from what I know of the lore of cata, zombies were problematic, but not the cause of societal collapse. a war was going on, zombie virus, portal storms, and mi-go invasion simultaneously. plus some other random stuff all at the same time. there was mass panic and confusion with things breaking apart world wide. we dont know what killed most of the soldiers or what caused the initial spread of the zombie plague, but its not from getting bitten.

I do understand that this has to be, because realisticly normal civilians would have almost no chance of survival in a actuall apocalypse, so you need to be superhuman to make the gameplay easier.

How could locked down labs, fully staffed military bases, and nuclear power plants all fall seemingly simultaneously? my best guess is that some idiot in a lab was playing with some crystal he found on the mi-go homeworld and caused the global portal storm (resonance cascade). also zombies.

Also why will there be no Hygiene, digestion system be added? Like you know we are no robots, who can eat stuff and use it to 100%, without pooping stuff out that is literaly toxic or unusable to us? Our digestion and immunsystem is very important. We would literaly die without pooping and peeing! And we would only need to implement it to do it once or twice a day! This could also make finaly different food qualitys a thing, where you have a higher chance to poisen yourself by eating cooked flesh from some random animal, in comparision to actuall processed modern food, which would have a low chance to poisen you depending on the food typ and quality. You could then slowly recover though your digestion system and poop the crap you did eat out again. If Cdda want to be realistic, than this needs to be in there as well, because its a mayor part of a human or animal in general.

That rurel house is a great find providing the triffids ain't too bothered with you been near, I think this is a cool idea would love to see her make the house secure and more like a base. I can imagine she still believes there are some people alive in the base and is staying close at least for a few weeks incase she gets orders. Would love to see fortifying the house and maybe even makeing a few security traps/pits as she plans to find a way to get back into the base and hord some supplies. Maybe even have a goal where she wants to find survivors and make a colony. Anyway always fun to see these small series without it we would never have got hilma.
Yeah, LOS is pretty much still a WIP that isn't being worked on for 'experimental Z-Levels' There is ZERO 'angled LOS nullification. it assumes you can see EVERYTHING, and everything can see YOU.
Going back into the military base and systematcally bringing down every zombie could be a really good goal... But, there's the probelm of being a military base filled with zombies decked out in combat gear and mutating in horrors beyond human comprehension...
Pretty epic! I did this challenge by staying quiet in the warehouse and picking the lock to the armory. From there, I got into the garage and piloted the Humvee out. But I liked your escape better.

A cog in the Imperialist war machine, a woman who has allowed her body to be enhanced for murder. A member of an organization that has committed numerous crimes both before the cataclysm & certainly numerous more during. A nice villain protagonist without a doubt, interested to see how this goes.

In CDDA it certainly seems a lot worse than it is now considering bionic soldiers. Peoples bodies themselves turned into weapons. But yeah, she is clearly an active & in service member of the U.S military, one loyal enough and committed enough to undergo such massive transformation of her body. So I would probably say she's a villain protagonist.

I do wonder, why do you stop aiming when you get hurt? Is it better to cancel and start again? I always try to keep aiming even when I get hurt, at least if something like that is coming at me and I know the source.
I don't know what a snipers next goal would be after climb the highest tower, but since she has no squad anymore, "enlist" 3 people ranger style & fill out a new one. Ideally a CQC expert, a medic, & a driver.
Rycon, it would be epic to see you slowly clear that base and eventually take down those Kevlar hulks This chick is a professional and she knows those supplies are invaluable.
Late to the party of watching this because my brother died... but Rycon you missed a golden opportunity with that start & using the Halligan bar to go downstairs to get into the armory.
I ened up discovering a pretty trivial way into the armory right out of the gate, and at least in that build it was ludicrously well stocked. I cleared the base with all that firepower and turned the warehouse into a home.
Just wanted Dr.Dong to know that though the short survival series continues and moves on, so (against insane odds!) does he - and his fans eagerly await further word of him!
I used the explosives like mad, and the c4 to blow up the walls, when i finally decided to bail with the armored truck filled to the brim with all the firepower and food i got my hands on. I was set for life, until a terrifying mutant ended me( thy looked the same on older versions of msxotto tileset ).
I'm going to be honest Melvinas cool but I feel almost like she didn't really have to struggle to escape like the others did. I feel like she'd lose out on the test for who to start the next series with if she doesn't pull off something remarkable? Maybe have her end goal be to take back the base she started in from the zombies? What do y'all think?
An intersting mechanic with the ferals could be making them bleed makes the zombies around them start attacking them thus turning the surrounding ferals hostile against the zombies also, I think something like that would be really cool.
I have a couple questions. 1 (not relevant to this run afaik), how is it you got the same location so frequently on some of your other runs? 2, How do you put pressure on a wound, I cant find that command.

You need a weapon with Reach to hit down from say a rooftop but if someone is just below you or above you if you hit tab you strike the closest creature to you, even if you don't know what direction they're in. Think that's your best bet

I love the overun scenario. Finding warehouse full of goodies and clearing a military base is pure catharsis.

Feral are just early stage infected so wouldn't make sense plus there are already plenty of mutants and other creatures who are hostile to zombies
