For the monthly deep cleaning, I use a system similar to FlyLady. My house is broken into zones and I take a full week to deep clean that zone, working on it a piece at a time, rather than trying to do it all in one day. Pantry clean out and food inventory is done with the kitchen zone and paper declutter and filing is done with the bedroom zone.
I do one room at a time, not zones, and i like the idea of doing them one per week instead of my current one per day. . .tyfs your method, it feels like someone has given me permission to relax and slow down in order to give each room it's due attention.
I don't even bring junk mail into the house. it goes straight into the can that goes to the street for pickup. All of our bills are paperless so once in a while I get a random package, but it's so nice not getting any mail. No paper at all. My problem is always saying to my husband, "Quit bringing trash into the house" He just can't remember to do it, so still working on that. 😉
I know exactly how you feel. I had missed a payment that I thought I had paid but got an email from the company reminding me that I needed to pay it. So, I went back and checked my checkbook and sure enough I deducted the amount from there but forgot to make the payment. I’m so glad I didn’t cause my checking account to go negative.
Fantastic ideas! Love watching all of your videos! I keep a small basket in my closet with a trash bag in it, when I run across something we don’t want anymore, I add it to the bag~ once full, I close it up & donate (of course, only items worth donating). Have a wonderful weekend ♥️
Can you please do a video that shows us how to curl our hair like you do that makes a wave? I just love you and am inspired by your videos and passion for what you do. 💗💗💗
When I heard you say "I do a deep clean of my house every ......" I was not expecting you to say month. I've got a lot of decluttering and habits to put in place before I can move to that chapter. It's a good goal to have though!
Such great ideas! I use shout on stains and the trick is to let it sit for at least 24 to 48 hours on the tough ones. Soaking in Oxsee clean for 4 to 6 hours should get out any stain. Possibly including chocolate milk! I saved a lot of uniforms that way!
HIGHLY recommend The Good Day Lab Engineering stain repel kids polos(on amazon)! My son has a uniform too and these will save your sanity ;) Also, a scoop of powdered baby oxyclean gets chocolate stains out every time for me. I always run clothes delicate too, but add a soak cycle when oxyclean is in there! So much good info in the video! As a Mom, I feel like my brain is constant inventory of the house 😂
Hey everyone, I’m truly loving deep cleaning and organizing my home. I love love love this community. I even changed up my channel to include simplicity in it as well.💕
How funny & timely .. when you mentioned choc milk stains i can chuckle about it now but last night i had one of the worst meltdowns of my entire life after my 10 month old kitten pushed me over the edge when he deliberately pulled over a very LARGE cup of choc milk i had just set down on my nightstand. It went EVERYWHERE. He is fascinated with my nightstand, i've tried several methods to teach him to leave it alone but the boy is UN-trainable. . . After a very long very pain-filled day, that was more than i could handle and i totally went into a screaming meltdown like i never have before. We're good today, and i've asked the Good Lord for forgiveness. I'm sure a lot of Moms can relate! 😉
Oh my goodness gracious, I feel your pain!! While I was going through chemo my cat decided to urinate on my silk curtains in my living room. I had a screaming, crying meltdown right there on the living room floor! I think everybody has those kind of days where just one more thing can put them over the edge:)
@@cheerfulgirl8835 ... 😁 good to know i'm not the only one!! So sorry you had to go thru chemo! My brother had 3 tumors under his tongue and had to go thru radiation & chemo & feeding tube. Not fun at all. Hope you are doing better now and that your cat has matured some. 💕
Hi Candice! I’ve been with you since always! I think this video shows just how far you’ve come in your simple living. It’s inspirational! Thank you for the great ideas! I’m going to put them in my calendar. :)
For your chocolate milk stains try Carbona Stain Devil's for blood and dairy. Works awesome and almost always takes chocolate milk stains out if you catch it before you wash it.
Great tips. A couple of things that I'm going to work on this month are paper clutter & digital stuff. I have loads of paperwork that I need to sort out, including old Ensign/Liahona & Friend magazines. I'm keeping the last Ensign issue & the 1st Liahona one but the rest I'll get rid of. I really need to sort out my inbox into folders etc. I also need to organise my pictures into folders. I recently took some pix with my digital camera, so need to add these as well as ones from my phone etc. I have some software where I can add the time & date to pictures & I find this really helpful. Thank you for the food storage tips. I need to work on mine again. I like to start on a one week supply & build it up from that.
If it helps I couldn’t drink milk normal from the carton as a kid. Would always dump it over myself. My remedy - open the lid and pinch the opening together and drink from the container sideways. Kind of hard to explain but it’s like your mouth fully covers the gap which is the slit left once the sides are pushed together and your tilting the thing up from its side. See if it helps when there are no straws.
Chocolate milk stains can be removed with salt and water. Just a little bit of water with a lot of salt leave it on the damp stain for a while then rub it with that salt . U can add dish soap. I didn't believe that there was something capable of removing chocolate milk stains until I tried it
Paper "Clutter" would be SO much easier IF we didn't have important paperwork like IEP's, SS papers, respite forms etc etc etc for decades for my only child who is differently abled. 🤦♀️😫 it's non stop but nothing I can do about it.
@@briannab5296 I nearly fainted at the petrol pump (just now) I paid an extra 30c per litre, which in American gallon / dollar is an extra $1.25. It’s not good !
@@anyat686 .. not good and downright scary! .. our vet jacked up nail clipping from $9 to $17 this year and because someone there was too rough with my cat and he became defensive they have 'red flagged' him as vicious and want $300 to sedate him just to clip his nails!! Blue colored Dawn is the best stain remover for clothes. Will get out stains even if the clothes have already gone through the dryer.
