I have been fishing for 55years Des Shipp is the best Angler I've ever had the privilege to watch and to learn from brilliant Des
Far from Silly Des, the wealth of your experience is 2nd to none, a lot of us try to emulate your style & really appreciate you sharing your experiences / rigs / baits & methods, we would not do as well & enjoy our fishing if it was not for the likes of you, well done & thank you, I am sure I speak for a lot of anglers who use a lot of gear from the Preston Stable.

Is the elastic number 6 on the slip elastic ? How long does it take to assemble the tip in 2 pieces?
Awesome net of redfins.. can't beat it. I'd take a net full like that, than a net full of carp any days 👍🎣
would this groundbait work on canal's to ??.
If it regularly see's fishmeal baits then yes no reason why not.
I may off missed it but when using slip elastic do you use a dacron or standard plastic stonfo connector? Also which size would you use? Many thanks 👍👍
Hi Anthony,
Des uses the smalles (Micro) size of plastic connector rather than a Dacron for solid elastics up to a no8 Slip.
@@Sonubaits fantastic!! thankyou for taking the time to reply👍
AT 16:18 is that a heater on Des's Table? if it is, I have never seen that before.
It is a little Bivvy heater. 👌
@@Sonubaits Thanks, never seen one before with not being a Carp / Bivvy fisherman, thanks for that, I will certainly have a look at them the wife and I both fish through winter and the wife would love one.
great angling again.which lake were you on cheers
It was the top lake 👌
will give it ago thanks for your fast reply no your busy @@Sonubaits
@@tonyhayward3206 There is a new lake just up the road owned by Harescombe fisheries its a silvers lake give that a go.
the master at work. a question if i may. When would you decide that your hook has done enough work. nobody ever explains just how many times they use a hook
Hi Sandra,
A great test for checking whether your hook has become blunt during the course of a session is how cleanly it hooks a maggot. If it is bursting the maggot whennicking it onto the hook then you should think about changing the hook. Also if you notice yourself bumping a few fish in quick succession.
I would definitely have knocked that heater into the lake at some point 😂
For deeper waters and a little current, could this mixture of groundbait be used? thanks
If the venue see's fishmeal regularly then absolutely. It can work wherever there is a chance of both skimmers/bream and roach
you can fish with fishmeal, but there are only carp and chubs, fishing is so difficult because of the cold temperatures and the clear water.... Thanks
Des is that a heater on your side tray?
It is a bivvy heater 👌
Would these tactics work on a silty bottom like 2foot of silt got a park pool and it's full of roaches and bream skimmers loads but its silty 8 foot deep the pool 1 acre
Feeding loose groundbait (not in a ball) is a great way of combatting silty venues. Because it spreads over a large area rather than in a ball that can sink into the silt. Give it a try 👌
@@Sonubaits thanks 👍
Where is q n a gone
Look at that. Look at that the look at that video
Thank you Mr. Shipp. But theres still no fishmeal Sonu in whole EU, thats sad.
Hi Martin.
That should have changed now, lots of shops in mainland Europe posting that they have received stock and we have been sending a couple of trailor loads over there every week for the past few months.
Never see any rainy episodes?!
You must have heard me. LoL
Could you have caught better in your opinion just using natural groundbaits. Good video by the way.
Hi Craig,
Hard to tell without doing a direct comparison, however, past experience would say while the natural groundbait is important due to the way it acts, these commercial silverfish are so used to fishmeal baits that having some fishmeal/pellet based groundbait in the mix is also very important and helps you target the larger specimens.
