So called "December Events" in Qazaq ASSR.
One of the first riots (analogical events happened before in April 1986 in Yakutsk of Yakut ASSR) and first protest on a big scale against the system followed by riots in other Soviet Republics (Minsk-1988; Tbilisi-1989; Baku-1990; Dushanbe-1990; Vilnius-1991, Riga-1991) until the final dissolution of USSR as a political union back in December 1991.
