I absolutely agree with John that fan voted awards are useless but he puts stricter fan voted requirements than he does for the actual Oscars ("Its not a valid vote though if you aint seen the other movies")
Dune on streaming… I can’t think of any major movie studio that HASNT been upended and screwed when they’ve tried to leverage their content or talent to get subscribers. Every one of them. Sony hasn’t been through that but they get to hear all about how their stuff goes to Netflix.
I’m with Kris, Dune did not work for me and I did watch in theaters. I rewatched it at home and liked it a bit more because I could actually tell what was going on with captions. That being said, I am definitely going to be watching Dune 2 opening weekend.
Yea I was watching about 20 minutes of the People’s choice awards and realized I didn’t know any of the people. I thought I was a people, but I guess I am not.
Ang literallly learns during the winter solstice about Sozin’s comet in Book one. It kicks off the time crunch in which he needs to learn the other elements, become a full fledged avatar, and defeat the fire lord.
how did she win? i mean really, there is no way , after all the controversial and the not stellar performance of her movie, and His successfull franchise, and all the people actually watching the movies, and she gets more votes, that must be some Bots work, cos there is no way, she got more real people votes for a lukewarm movie with limited success and the backlash she got for her Snow white comments.
It’s looking like blade is going to get pushed to 2026 because Sony is pressing marvel to get Spider-Man 4 in the movies for 2025, feige had no plans to get it out by 2025 and was aiming for 2026, from what’s being reported and rumored Sony won’t budge on the release and that is messing up feiges plans big time and he may have to push blade to 2026 and another movie to late 2025
That in no way would be what would cause Blade to get pushed back (yet again) if the reports of Sony pressing to get a 4th Spidey film out are true. The fact is that Blade's production is just a mess. If it's gets pushed back again, that's solely on Marvel for not having their stuff together sooner.
Bless his heart but John trying to legitimize the People's Choice Awards. Just let them be a dumb award show. Even the celebrities know it's not to be taken seriously.
“Superman legacy could make $300 million & that’ll be ok.” The way Hollywood inflates their budgets nowadays, $300 million is basically a disaster. And with this Superman film having lanterns & other super powered characters I don’t see how it won’t be made without a $200 million plus budget as well as marketing (these studios can’t help themselves). I dunno, just seems like a tight rope to walk on IF it makes that much.
I feel like using the word legacy in the title is just a bad move. You're basically saying "Yeah we know we've already done this several times but.... MONEY!!!"
@loudfan-ug9if That's still a useless award, it's voted for by people with different opinions. I'd say best animated film would be Across the Spider-Verse, but two other could say Elemental was the best and that one would win.
Finally I can agree with John on the awards. Fan awards are a set up to hype up these teens bop actress because they can't do more roles other than young adult roles.
Dune was made mainly for the old heads. People that grew up reading Frank Herbert's beloved literary masterpieces. Brian Herbert killed the book franchise tho.
Not everyone watches movies and shows for a living 24/7. 🙄 Your opinions are not more important than people just because they have a life. I’ve not seen Mission impossible but I have seen John Wick 4 can I not vote? I vote for the movie have seen. I don’t want to have to binge the movies because a number has been nominated. We vote for what we like so I’d vote for Keanu.
The awards get ratings for the the awards show and jobs for the people making it. The awards gives marketing something to promote. It provides the award winners something for their shelfs.
It's not only about how many movies someone saw, it's more about who can actually be bothered to vote. And I would suggest that People Choice is voted on by young teens who don't watch "boring old fart" stuff like Oppenheimer. And as a boring old fart, I would never bother to vote in a People's Choice award.
The Dune Re-release did not make 30 Million Dollar. It is a failure by Box Office Mojo the but by mistake 28 Million Dune made in 2021 in the UK in the numbers for the Re-release.
I also believe this is the case. Surprised they haven't made the correction given that a lot of media has picked up this inaccurate story. Can't wait to see Dune Part 2! 😍
Took my wife to see Dune pt1 in Imax and to say there’s a huge difference from my 65” to Imax as far as enjoyment is an understatement. I stopped watching 30min in on Max, i never left my seat in theaters.
While X-Men 97 is not part of mcu but with all the xmen/mutant content coming with 97 and Deadpool3 they are slowly building hype for the mcu versions of the Xmen
I read that people could vote up to 25 times for the People's Choice "Awards" and vote by email. People who know better stay away from these things anyway.
John is complaining just to complain. It’s for the teens and kids who might not have the chance or money to see every movie out there. Let them have the awards it’s not hurting anyone. I’m glad with Kris’s take
You complaining about the People's Choice Award voting just seems like unnecessary bxtchin. Truth be told, all awards should be based on fans voting or at least heavily weighted by the percentage of fans voting
I think they've failed us too many times to be given the benefit of the doubt. And didn't the original creators of Avatar walk away from this too....bad sign. One Piece did it right. They stuck closely to the source. Even if it was absurd. The problem is always when the writers of the show thinks they're better than the original creators. When they could never create something original that was half as good.
Anime movie recommendation: Children Who Chase Lost Voices: Synopsis After hearing a strange song from a crystal radio, a young girl called Asuna finds herself transported to a world of mythical beasts and brave warriors.
Kris I’m with you on Dune. I watched it at home but I thought it was a giant waste of time. I wanted back my two in a half hours. Basically Dances with Wolves/white savior movie in space. Not for me. Oh I think with award show like the PCA and MTV movies it’s about *who* they show can get to come to the actual show more than who deserves the award.

It's only kids who vote for this
Ang literallly learns during the winter solstice about Sozin’s comet in Book one. It kicks off the time crunch in which he needs to learn the other elements, become a full fledged avatar, and defeat the fire lord.
Movie performance of the year going to America Ferrera in Barbie was a pretty weak pull also.....

All part of the media's new plan that's going around in hollywood be ready for the next phase🤮
Kris Carr all day long ❤
Aw thanks!

superman legacy will easily surpass a $200M budget if you include marketing. the movie has a long road to cross
@@timskully3496 even making just $500 million would be pretty steep but we don’t know the budget rn
@@JoshCarlos1998 agreed. although $500M would certainly be more positive than 300 😂

I’ve been saying this for years, if film like any other art form is subjective why do we need to know who’s the best or worst at anything?
Finally I can agree with John on the awards. Fan awards are a set up to hype up these teens bop actress because they can't do more roles other than young adult roles.
I’m sorry I still can’t believe that she was voted over those two it just doesn’t make sense especially when so many fans are mad about it
I think more things should be fan voted. Like why the fuck isn't Ozzy in the rock and roll hall of fame?
But John!
Is it possible that fans are trolling those awards shows?
I doubt that John, I think they gave the win to her give her some good press but it doing the opposite!!
You could talk for days about Madame Web & never mention Dakota's wooden, awful performance.... Swerve.
Does Kris not know how to say Pedro?
Im surprised you guys didn't talk about sony taking over Disney physical media.
?? Say what
Dune was made mainly for the old heads. People that grew up reading Frank Herbert's beloved literary masterpieces. Brian Herbert killed the book franchise tho.
My guess would be that Kristof Waltz will play Van Helsing not Dracula.
Ya dune isn't for a wide audience. Literally none of my friends even know there were books b4 the movies.

John thinks that Academies members watch all movies.
Why not DC and Sony talk to Russo Brothers , i am sure they will do great..
cowboy bebop and one piece feel the same to me. I dont see how one is better than the other
Those movies shouldn’t have been an option in the first place

Dune Part 2 making a billion. I'm calling it now!!
Kris always predictable
Or consistent in my views but hey ✌🏻

Spider Man: A-Team, Venom: B-Team, Morbius/Madam Web: F-Team
seeing that opening makes me want to see a sequel to the schweddy balls snl skit with the dune bucket lol
Hi @kriskarr I don't like the first Dune that much either :)
55:23 Roadtrips: The Sure Thing - fun comedy.
My real issue is more on some of the nominations vs the voting qualifications.
One major problem with voting method is that it was easy to game the system by voting multiple times.
Correct. I thought they said that in the video. Yeah, I hate it when voting works like that in some things.
John is complaining just to complain. It’s for the teens and kids who might not have the chance or money to see every movie out there. Let them have the awards it’s not hurting anyone. I’m glad with Kris’s take
