  • Prof. Neil Shubin, a pioneering University of Chicago paleontologist and evolutionary biologist and bestselling author, gave the 2021 Nora and Edward Ryerson Lecture, entitled “Finding Your Inner Fish: Fossils, Genes and the History of Life."
The Robert R. Bensley Distinguished Service Professor of Organismal Biology and Anatomy, Shubin is known widely for his evolutionary work including the groundbreaking discovery of Tiktaalik roseae, the 375-million-year-old fossil considered a missing link between fish and all animals on land, including humans.
He has also written three popular science books: Your Inner Fish: A Journey Into the 3.5-Billion-Year History of the Human Body (2008), ; The Universe Within: Discovering the Common History of Rocks, Planets, and People (2013); and most recently, Some Assembly Required: Decoding Four Billion Years of Life, from Ancient Fossils to DNA, published in March 2020. He appears regularly on TV and media to discuss science, including as the host of an Emmy Award-winning PBS series called Your Inner Fish.

Yep indeed! Religious people live in hypocrisy and lies. Every religion claim to have the truth. Of course there is only one truth. Who possess the whole truth? No one!!!

If the fin cells were 'deleted' then tektolic wouldnt have digits either, or did the cells get deleted to remove the fins and then reactivated as hand/feet?

"Homeobox genes (also known as Hox genes) are master developmental control genes that act at the top of genetic hierarchies regulating aspects of morphogenesis and cell differentiation in animals. These genes contain a common sequence element of 180 bp, the homeobox, which was first discovered in the fruit fly Drosophila."

The professor is engaging in story telling based on assumption on assumptions. Macro evolution is still unable to explain the Cambrian Explosion, Darwin's Doubt. and the orihin of life. The textbooks on evolution espouses many untruths and omissions.

The only purpose of your life is what you give it. There's no higher cosmic purpose with a capital P. You can choose to live a bland, boring, uninteresting life or you can live your life to the fullest and enjoy your time on Earth with family and friends. The choice is yours. In fact, the idea that there's a god makes us have less purpose because if there is a god, we would pretty much be his playthings. Sorry, there is no god. There is no evidence for your sky fairy whatsoever. I have complete control over my life and there is no one who can read my thoughts.

@@StaticBlaster First of all, I thank you for your response to my message... You can say that there is no Creator who created us and the universe, but your words remain just a claim without scientific proof... It is easy to escape from the idea of a Creator who created us, not because God does not exist, but because we want to We enjoy the world and its pleasures instead of following a wise Creator. We follow ourselves and submit to its lusts... It is easy to say that there is no God and it is difficult to witness the enormous complexity in all aspects of life and then say that we came by chance without a goal and no end... If you read in medicine and look at the delicate processes What happens in the human body and its consistency and harmony, I realized that there is a God who created us and installed all these extremely precise processes... You can find God that He is very close to you, closer than your heartbeat and even closer than your thoughts... Thank you again my dear for your response, I was pleased with that.. God wants good for you and this message that you replied to me is a message to you that he wants you that I believe in him..just pray from your heart and tell him to guide you to him...

@@StaticBlaster There is honest evidence for the existence of God. If you were searching diligently for a god, you would find him... The evidence is very numerous and infinite, including (mental principles) that are found in every human being... And instinct, as it is said (there is no atheist in the trench) in severe crises when facing a person. Danger is like strong waves The atheist in the ship has nothing to save him from the raging waves, so you find his instinct screaming the word “Oh my God.” The only refuge at that moment is God... All the amazing complexity in life makes the mind exclude chance and randomness in creation... Dear, we will live A little in the world and then death. Were we created for the sake of enjoying materialism only? Is there no purpose for which we were created... Dear, I hope God guides you to Him.. Dear Read about the religion of Islam, the family system and the society that came with it... Your mind has 100 billion cells It operates according to a specific, estimated, and highly disciplined system, leaving no room for saying that we came by chance and randomly....
