- Video #218 - A sleeper class journey from Kabaka Puttur (in Karnataka) to Murdeshwar (in coastal Karnataka) via Padil Bypass line on the 06563 Yesvantpur - Murdeshwar Special Express (Train on Demand). This was not the first time I traveled on this train - but this was perhaps the last ever journey this train made (unless the railways decides to reverse their decision and re-introduces this cracker of a train).
The Yesvantpur-Murdeshwar Special train is a lovely train that was among the fastest option for people traveling to Coastal Karnataka from Bengaluru - it was operated as a weekly train, which could've been easily converted to daily train.
This train was the ONLY train to transverse the Padil Bypass Line in broad daylight.

But as i know , it is not that what you said that the station serves two towns kabaka and puttur
Puttur is the name of the City muncipality and kabaka is a small junction of it.
But In andhra pradesh , there is already a station called Puttur thats why a small junction Kabaka which is nearly 6Kms away from Puttur Which Serves the bus services from puttur towards kasargod and Mangalore is a turning point , so they put the name as Kabaka Puttur,

There are plenty of cases of two stations by the same name existing in multiple states. So that's not the reason. This train service has been cancelled now since a daily SMVT MRDW express was allotted

But 16565/16566 also share rake with Yeswanthpur - Lucknow express

Why Konkan railway does'nt maintains its stations😮???
Konkan Railway does not receive budgetary support from IR for station maintenance. All works happen from KR's own revenues.
They should run an express from Bayandoor thru’ Mangalore Jn ( Kankanadi) via Hassan route to Chennai. This will provide direct service for the pilgrims bound for the Udupi, Kollur temples

Shankar, Which is the best train to travel through Konkan Railway in daytime? I have never been through Konkan Railway.
It depends on where you are starting your journey from.
Kalyan to Kerala, Mangala Express
Pathetic maintenance in KR stations, even Neralakatte, which is a HG-3 station is far better than any KR station, these kind of negligence is inevitable, when a state is shattered into five pieces or zones of Indian railways like SR, SCR, SWR, KR and CR , there are no central accountability. High time, KR gets merged with SWR or CR.

Usually lines/trains going away from HQ is Down, and trains towards HQ is UP. It changes according to zones
