    Thanks for the help! Got a ton of bites today after seeing this. Now hopefully I can learn to set the hook right and land a few.

    Tried this method today, caught a fish but couldn’t land it. Thanks for sharing your method. What size hook and type of hook do you use? Also what weight split shot you use that day and you put it like 12 inches above from hook?

      Glad it helped you! Hook: Eagle Claw size #4, you can find them at Walmart. Split Shot: 1/18oz. but don't be afraid to carry different weight sizes because it really depends on how strong the current of the water flow is. Sometimes you might have to switch to lighter weights or heavier ones, depending on the strength of the current. The key is when you put the weight on and cast it out, make sure you can feel the weight hit the bottom and feel it roll. If you don't feel the weight hit the bottom, that means the weight is too light. The current is too strong and will pull the bait away before the fish has enough time to strike. If you keep getting snagged, that means your weight is too heavy. So. you will need to adjust the weights to fit the water current. Hope next time you can land a fish! Good luck!

      @@edkonvang does it matter how high from hook you put split shot?

    • @edkonvang
      @edkonvang  3 месяца назад +2

      To me the weight is like a fish finder. Sometimes I try it shorter and sometimes I'lll leave it a little bit longer. It depends on how high and low the water is. You'll have to experiment to see which length works. Hope this give you some ideas!

    where do you buy those thick nightcrawlers from?

    Is it worth using spinners and spoons right there or will u just get snagged up right away on the rocks?

    • @edkonvang

      I didn't try. I wouldn't know. Sorry!

      @@vgee3926 the day I went I lost 4 spoons/lures. It’s very rocky. The only place to use those with lower chances of snags are in front of the bridge area.
