i think it’s coz lock on does 1 damage per hit no matter what, so resistances don’t do anything and neither do defence haha so being a ghost type or steel type that resists normal doesn’t help
Regarding you thinking it wouldn't knock out a perfect gligar. To rank 1 shadow gligar, from a default IV (rank 116) regi - you deal 35.8%. Normal gligar 29.7%. Exact same damage with both moves.
I can believe it's the top 20 that gets banned. I think the majority of people playing are probably around Ace elo and definitely not running top meta all the time.
