Nice tried to compare. I personnally prefer the traditional fly fishing method instead of Tenkara. Do not like the long line while playing the fish. And there are very good travel flyrods with 6 pieces, easy for backpacking. Max Catch has one, not expensive at all.
I have limited experience with fly fishing but i like to keep things simple so i thought that Tenkara would be a perfect fit for me. But i am not sure anymore. I do feel limited with the range when using the Tenkara but guessing that its not as big of an issue when using traditional fly fishing. I can see Tenkara being a good fishing method when you have lots of open space and can walk along side of the river. Like a small mountain stream, when reach is not as important. Have to try one of those travel flyrods you are refering too, looks like it has good potential. Thanks
No i haven't tried anything other than the setup i currently have. But i do feel that my line is too long and i would have better control if it was slightly shorter.
Just had a check and my rod is 388 cm (12.9ft). But it does makes sense to rather have a longer rod with shorter line compared to the other way around.
Fin film och en väldigt vacker plats! Får man fråga vart det är någonstans?
Kul att det uppskattas. Det är fiskat i Unnån i Orsa.

Have you tried long rod with short line?

@ScandinavianWilderness I have a 540 that is a two handed rod. 15ft is a lot to control with one hand.
