    You mentioned it is possible for a NS-NS to merge to a NS for a time before collapsing into a BH. What is that time frame? Does that consider ejecta that does not escape and falls back to the object?

    Maybe I don’t understand, but if you are always talking about a cold, non-rotating NS radius, does this conflict with the ringdown period where the NS is still unstable?
