I love your idea to spend more time and stretch everything out to cover more, instead of trying to simplify everything just to fit it all in one week. I’m planning on using both starting in August with my 5yo and 3.5yo. I’m really excited about it, and love watching your videos to learn more about combining them. My plan is to follow BYL order of countries, but I’m giving myself more than a week to complete it all so I don’t have to exclude too many books. I bought the new art book from BYL but then found the older one at a thrift store so I bought that one as well. I’m glad I did, especially after watching your video. Thank you for such a great review!
I’m so glad I found your channel via the Facebook BYL group. I watched it and nodded along the whole time - gameschooling…yes! It’s our second time through BYL 0 and I’m adding in Torchlight books for my older learner who journeyed around the world 2 years ago. Your channel is going to be so valuable to us and I’m excited to check out your podcast too!
I looove your channel! I'm planning to be a homeschool mom in the Philippines. Do you think Torchlight Level K would be ok for a 6 or 7yo? Or would it be too "kiddie?"
Thank you! We’re so happy our channel is helping families. You could definitely do TL or BYL with an older child. In fact we plan to come back and do this again when our kinder aged daughter will be 8 because her sister will then be 5. The only concern I would have with doing this outside of the US is the cost of the books. BYL uses books that are a little easier to find and more cost effective than TL, but many are also available digitally which is helpful. We hope you’re able to take this journey. We’ve had such a great time so far!
@@HomeschoolTogether thank you! The enormous amount of books is a concern too but we have a growing homeschool community here in the country and therefore a growing used books online store community as well. So I can take advantage of that. The rest I can source from abroad. Glad to know it's ok for older kiddos!
This is so helpful! Thank you!!
I love that you stated these are the only books you will most likely use next time!!!! That helps so much!
Glad it was helpful!

We’re so glad that this is helpful! We’re going to keep going country by country so stay tuned!

So glad you found us! We'll be doing this round again in a few years also as our younger daughter gets old enough. We've loved our journey thus far!
