Tuomas said this song is about people we meet along the way in life, each person represent a island, or a happening in your life, and the one steering the ship, Tuomas, or maybe you.. it could be your story right, but Tuomas proberly did write it as him steering the ship.
Thats hust one take on it, cause Tuomas also said the song could have a triple meaning.
feel some imaginarium vibes here, also some melody parts reminds a bit if the NW song Sahara.. i do think its a great song, i didnt catch it at first listen, i was also pretty tired, maybe thats why, but now i get on a journey with it, sailing this ship to diffrent island, and in the end with the pipes we port.. love it!!
It feels a little like a perfect blend of Music, Tribal, Ad Astra, scare tale, Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean and Sahara. I really loved the first two singles, I think those were great, but this... is just a whole different level.

Absolutely no question about it.
The music is outstanding, yet I think they could/should have done more on the videography part, just like they did with their first two singles. The video part here is kinda monotonous and not very appealing to me. Perhaps their budget ran out.

Seen them about 5-6 times. Last time was Nightwish Cruise 2015. Tomorrow I will be able to listen to the new album in advance in Helsinki. And the band will be there too. Can't wait!!! 🤘

Yes. And I think it was a good decision, as there is less distraction from the actual music
They originally planned to released three single which are Perfyme of The timeless, The Day Of and Lanternlight. To these three songs music videos have been made on advance. They do fest of the songs lyric videos. An Ocean Of Strange Islands is extra single.

Thank you. I'm still dealing with something, unfortunately. Hopefully I rest enough and it goes away but also waiting to hear what the doc says.
I wonder if Markos voice had any difference in this song... I am very sure that Tuomas had his own vision how this had to be done..
Even if Marko were still in the band, I'm not convinced he would sing in this song, except possibly backing, indistinct in the mix. I noticed a male voice once when they go up in key at the end. That may have been Troy or a member of the backing choir, I couldn't tell. (Probably sings more than that, I just particularly noticed him then.)
This is very much a Floor vocal song, I think, and even when Marko was around, there were lots of songs where he remained just on bass or guitar duties.
